Marbles?

I concur. It makes a lot more intuitive sense for a living machine to cough up little living machine parts than pieces of agate or glass. We only see one use for them in the movie, but we don't know that these robots never function as real ball bearings. (It's likely, however, that they never function as marbles.) All that aside, it would be best to call them whatever they are called in whatever piece of official fiction actually calls them something. Thirtysilver 09:12, 29 June 2009 (EDT)

Name

Seriously, can we decide on what they're called already? First it was "marble bots" (personal favourite), then it was "ball bearing bots" (groan) and now it's "microcons". (even bigger groan) ---Blackout- 15:17, 11 July 2009 (EDT)

"marble bots" was just a place holder name, since at the time we didn't have enough information about the characters to know their names. "ball bearing bots" seems to have just been an attempt at being more accurate in describing them. "Microcons" is what appears to be their official name. Official names have precedence over nicknames, whatever your personal preference might be. So barring any future revelations that these critters have another name to them, Microcons it is. --Ascendron 15:36, 11 July 2009 (EDT)
