What about that thing with Kaplan at BC 2002? I don't remember the specifics, but there was some sort of incident that happened, wasn't there? - Chris McFeely 00:37, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
- Here's the relevant a.t.t. thread. And here's a potentially useful follow-up. Use Google Groups to search "Kaplan" and "BotCon" within a.t.t. posts if you feel you need more material.--Apcog 01:14, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
- Kaplan has privately asked Suspsy to not tell this story so often, and I'm inclined to respect that by not mentioning it in the article. --Steve-o 02:39, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
- I feel that mention of alchohol-assisted trash-talk should be included in articles only when it shows the subject to be wrong. As I understand it all Mr. Kaplan's complaints (the quality of the animation, lifelessness of Prims) were essentially born out, and Mr. Chalk's performance as Prime for the entire Unicron trilogy was shockingly listless. I certainly wish someone with Kaplan's obvious passion for the role had been doing it. -Derik 03:22, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
- Thing was, how many episodes did Kaplan watch before the fans did? Because I recall Hasbro only showing the first episode/first third of the mini-series that ended in the grappling match between Optimus and Megatron. The episode wasn't poorly animated, nor did David Kaye and Garry Chalk perform poorly (people FREAKING CHEERED when Kaye and Chalk were heard). I'll grant him his criticism if he got to see the third episode of the series were the animation SERIOUSLY went downhill for no reason, and the actors were reduced to grunting as still cels of Cyclonus and Starscream slided across the screen.
- Either way, it is not the done thing to criticise other actors like that. --FFN 05:40, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
- I can think of many other instances where voice actor guests have gotten drunk and behaved badly or obnoxiously, including taking swipes at other TF series. They're all equally inappropriate for this wiki. --Thylacine 2000 14:28, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
