Geisha?

[edit]

Being curious and nitpicky, does Nijika actually resemble a geisha? The make-up looks way off to me, more like a kabuki-player's (although I admit knowing zilch about Asian makeup customs). Or was she called a geisha in the script? Geewunling 16:09, 6 November 2009 (EST)

Hard to say. Kabuki actors can have fully white faces, with red paint to represent them as the protagonists while purple paint as antagonists depending on the story, IIRC. (Coincidence? You decide.) Geisha usually paint their faces entirely white. --Lonegamer78 17:46, 6 November 2009 (EST)
That, and the make-up should also cover the neck with a focus on the back of it, far as I know, which Nijika's make-up doesn't. So, I end up thinking she doesn't resemble a geisha at all, since Asian-looking women in Asian garb with make-up on her face does not automatically equal geisha. Doesn't Nijika only have the make-up as shown in our picture after Perceptor's Autobot logo is used to replace her face? I'll have to pop the DVD in later and check it out.--Tigerpaw28 12:56, 7 November 2009 (EST)
Nope, the flashback has her with the make-up in the past too. And looking at her again, I wonder if Nijika is supposed to resemble a noble woman as her outfit and hairdo very much resembles the two empresses'. Geewunling 13:34, 7 November 2009 (EST)

Repurposing

[edit]

I assume that last Windblade toy was also canonically repurposed in something? --Thylacine 2000 (talk) 21:40, 6 March 2024 (EST)
