Should this be merged with a potential Cloudburst profile? The rest of Masterforce is pretty cut and dry with being entirely different characters, but the line's blurry with the Autobot and Decepticon Pretenders... --Monzo 09:22, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

...how is the line blurry? Cloudburst is an effete pacifist. Phoenix is a by-the-books jet-pilot. Landmine is a rough-and-tumble adventurer like Indiana Jones, Lander is a playboy fop comedy relief character. Waverider is essentialyl thr ONLY US Pretender to mention how he deals with the outo-fob-dy aspects of being in two places as a Pretender- something that doesn't exist in Masterforce.

Similar toys or no, the Cybertron pretenders are Robots that spent ~3000 years living among humans. They're completely culturally assimilated, and they spend most of their time shrunk to human scale. Lander has sex with women. (Or at least those are all the indications.) The Autobot Pretenders OTOH, have different characterizations, different names, different character models, different backstories, different attributes- and do not shrink to human size- the single most important thing to their Japanese couterparts histories.

So... no, they shouldn't be merged.

Um, in my opinion, just think the difference of characteristic between Cloudburst/Phoenix and other Pretenders is similar to the difference between Blaster (cartoon)/Blaster (comic). Well, just my opinion. ;D --TX55 13:12, 25 December 2007 (UTC)

Hih, i was wondering how that'd work. That seems sensible, given the circumstances, You have to change the old links when a name gets re-used, but (it seems) most re-used naems get re-used a LOT, so it won't be too bad. -Derik 01:55, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

Where does Phoenix live?

Is he from London? Does Lander live in London or New York? I'm not clear on this. I assume his uniform would tell me something- if I knew jack about military uniforms.

For some reason I always thought it was-

• Metalhawk - Japan
• Diver - California
• Lander - London
• Phoenix - Germany?

...but I have no confidence those last two are right. ...help? Somebody?

By all appearances, Lander lives in America somewhere. He always seems to be able to get to Diver with suitable ease, and he's usually there, hanging out with him and Ginrai early on in the series. I don't believe the show ever states where Phoenix lives, but the dub does say Germany. Of course, you can trust absolutely nothing when it comes to the dub, but that's not an outlandish guess - he clearly lives in another country to Diver and Lander, since he's hardly ever WITH THEM, and he would at least appear to be in Europe somewhere since he was able to report quickly enough on the fly-by of Buster and Hydra over London.
