A few things:

  • Beast Machines Optimus Primal is described as huge and hulking, larger than Armada's Tidal Wave— the author was going by the toy, not realising the character was suppsoed to be much smaller than Optimus Prime.

Wasn't there some discussion somewhere suggesting that BM Primal's huge appearance was more likely based on what Primal looked like while dead and inside the Oracle on the show, or something along those lines?

  • Two of the four Megatrons lack equivilant deaths for their meeting. This is glossed over.

I took the appearance of the Megatrons as purely symbolic, myself. I didn't think any of them were actually, literally there during death as the Prime/als were.

  • The author's command of Transformers lore does not run deep enough to pull off the story's premise. The result is... shallow.

Do we actually know how deep the author's command of Transformers lore runs? Is the "shallow" comment appropriate? I mean, I agree with it, but I'm not sure it belongs here. --KilMichaelMcC 06:25, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, that seems like a fairly biased remark. More opinion than fact, I'd say, and while possibly valid it's probably not appropriate. --DTZ

Indeed. There were positive reactions to "Prime Spark", after all. I would think Derik of all people would know that. Heh. ;) --KilMichaelMcC 08:21, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
It re-reads poorly. Frankly, he didn't know hie TF enough to carry a premise that ambiitious off. Nothign HAPPENS. Primal describes himself as leader of the Maximals (a really oddd thign in context, because to ANYONE not from his timeframe, it sounds liek he's claiming leadership of all Maximals.) Just- it was 31 pages and nothing happened. What a waste.
Change it if you want.-Derik 13:18, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
If the story was widely panned by fans, go ahead and say that; but it really does just reek of personal opinion to have comments like that. The former gives a good idea of the reception that the story got, whereas the latter doesn't really tell the reader anything. I'd change it myself, but I know nothing of either the story or the fandom when it came out. --Suki Brits 23:37, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

Names

[edit]

So what nicknames were used for the Optimi? I find that to be a glaring omission given the comment in trivia, but I haven't read the story to be able to correct it.--MCRG 09:00, 1 February 2007 (UTC)

The current list really needs some reworking, but I'd first like to find out if this is okay before I do anything else. Any suggestions/modifications? --Inkblot 09:38, 25 June 2013 (EDT)

I don't know the best way to organize it, but those megatrons probably shouldn't be listed as autobots... Spork 00:28, 5 August 2013 (EDT)
