Prowl 2
[edit]So, I gather the "Prowl 2" toy has no bio? JW 13:01, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- you gather correctly. He, Side Swipe and Daytonus went bio-less despite their many releases. -Derik 13:11, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- While I find your "Chip-Prowl = RiD-Prowl 2 = Owl-Prowl II" theory kinda neat (now that it's been explained to me), I'm afraid my better judgment says to invoke Occam's Razor here: "Entities should not be multiplied beyond necessity." Barring more substantive proof than Ichikawa being cute, the Prowl 2 toy should be assumed to be the same guy as Prowl (RID) by default.
- However, I would support the addition of a trivia note to this article: "As the Prowl 2 toy has no bio, it is only probably the same character as Prowl. The Japanese booklet for the Binaltech release of Alternators Prowl (G1) states that his Binaltech body was originally designated 'Prowl 2'. As in Japan the RID continuity (called Car Robots there) is (arguably) part of G1, this can be read as a retcon of the identity of the Prowl 2 toy. This fanon theory has not found wide acceptance, however."
- Is this note acceptable to people? JW 14:35, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- Occam's Razor demands that the bio-less Prowl 2 be Prowl instead of Prowl II, despite Prowl II's bio referencing Prowl 2 (using that name format!) and existing in the same continuity?
- That's a pretty screwy rendition of Occam's Razor you've got going there Sweeny Todd. -Derik 14:50, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- When you say "Prowl II's bio" are you referring to Owl-Prowl's bio or Chip-Prowl's bio?
- Also, I'm trying to help here, so could you be civil? JW 14:58, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- How about we tweek it so that the same note could be included with G1 Prowl and Owl Prowl as well as they are all characters cought in this mother of a continuity mess. How about:
- Note: The "Prowl 2" Spychanger released during Robots in Disguise has no bio, exactly who or what it represents as a character is open to debate. Many have assumed it is simply the same character as RiD Prowl. Things are not necessarily that simple however, as in Japan the RID continuity has been retconed into being part of G1. The Japanese booklet for Binaltech Prowl states that his Binaltech self (which is a fusion of a copy of Prowl's mind and Chip Chase) was originally designated 'Prowl 2'. This could be read as a retcon of the identity of the Prowl 2 toy. That interpritation has not found wide acceptance, however.

- That seems long.
- How about since Prowl 2 has a different name from RiD Prowl and there's some not-insignifigant reasosn to believe he's not the same character, we break Prowl 2 (RID) into his own article and note that he might be Prowl II (or Prowl RiD I guess)-- basically the way we treat the question of T-Wrecks identity? -Derik 15:54, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- Er- to clarify, I propose we conclude that Prowl 2 probably isn't Prowl (RiD) while we suspend judgment on whether he is PRowl II. (There's reason to think so, but apparently not enough evidence for a firm consensus.) Treat RiD Prowl 2 as his own character (logistically) while noting that he may actually be one of these other two guys. -Derik 15:59, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
As the Spychanger came before the Powered-Up Redecos, I always assumed that those redecos were initially planned on being called Prowl 2/Side Burn 2/X-Brawn 2, and thus the Spychangers, as being based more on the Powered-Up colors, was called Prowl 2. It appears this changed by the time the redecos came out. Saying he's not Prowl is just making things way too complicated. --Spectre 23:19, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- That's what the redecoes were called in Wal*Mart(?) computers. Side Burn 2, X-Brawn 2, et cetera. Some people don't seem to want to listen to that, though. -LV 01:03, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
Jokes
[edit]This page is in desparate need of more porn actor jokes. Like that picture where he gets towed. Sixtynine jokes are just begging to replace the current caption.--86.87.28.191 19:03, 17 January 2010 (EST)
Child of Primus Prowl
[edit]Regarding the non-Spychanger Prowls in Universe, how should we order that section? Because according to Ask Vector Prime, "Shell Game" Prowl was abducted along with Ratchet, so presumably Prowl and his other "Shell Game"-verse comrades were escaping off-panel in "Escape". Then later in the OTFCC 2004 voice play another Prowl of an unspecified Viron universe shows up; his fate at the end of the story is unspecified. Then in "Revelations Part 2" a Prowl appears. I think we assumed that all of Ratchet's comrades joined him as Children of Primus; thus "Shell Game"-verse Prowl is listed as a member of the Children of Primus. But is that a definite conclusion? - Split out "Shell Game" for the AVP section, maybe. He didn't exist when Revelations was written, so I think we can reasonably assume that's the guy from the Voice Actor Drama. Saix (talk) 17:55, 18 August 2015 (EDT)
- Then we should take out all the "Shell Game" guys except Ratchet and Fireflight from the Children members list, right? S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent 47 (talk) 17:59, 18 August 2015 (EDT)
- I don't remember the specifics, but if they're not mentioned to fight on any side, maybe so. Saix (talk) 18:01, 18 August 2015 (EDT)
- All that the AVP post in question says is that a bunch of guys (including Ratchet, Fireflight, and Ruination, who definitively showed up in Universe stories) disappeared because of Unicron, leading to the defeat of Optimus Prime's Autobots. S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent 47 (talk) 18:07, 18 August 2015 (EDT)
