Argument for possible merges

I feel like there is a decent argument to be made for the merging of this page with a few other similar weapon pages (namely: Electron pulse gun, Ion pulse gun, Ion-pulse rifle, and possibly Electrostatic pulse rifle).

Firstly, there's the case of Jazz's "semi-automatic ion pulse gun" being referred to as a "semi-automatic pulse rifle" by Dreamwave, as mentioned on this page, and there's not really a concrete distinction between "gun" and "rifle", one is just more specific. There's also the ion-pulse rifles attributed to Metroplex and Six-Gun. Then there's the case of the "electron pulse gun" of Tigertrack/Clampdown and Sunstreaker being referred to as an "electron pulse rifle" also by Dreamwave. With the gun that Clampdown uses within the Wings Universe being labelled as a generic "pulse rifle" in Termination.

The electrostatic pulse rifle, I simply suggest for the sake of consistency with the merging of those other ones, since it is also a "pulse rifle". Most of these pages are all rather short/barebones as it is. --Dinobot Scorn (talk) 15:42, 27 November 2025 (EST)

M41A Pulse Rifle note

While I'm an enormous fan of the M41A Pulse Rifle and it's almost certain that it had an influence on later weapon naming (especially Pretender Jazz's ion pulse gun becoming a generic pulse rifle in Dreamwave) I feel that this note is a bit overblown considering we now have Sunstreaker's electron pulse gun on this page. Seems weird to be speculating whether Transformers pulse guns are patterned after M41A Pulse Rifles when they predate Aliens by two years. --Emvee (talk) 13:44, 10 December 2025 (EST)
