Ratchet toys HAS fingers articulation! (sort of)
[edit]It is almost inexistent, but I have the robot in my hands and his right toe finger is wide open right now. To make it possible you have to make room by deploying the axe yet letting the hand in position. Do that yourself and you'll see. When the axe is ranged (in other word, when the right arm is in "normal arm" mode),it is still possible to open the hand but only by 1 millimeter. It is also possible to open the left hand of 1 millimeter. I know it's a ridiculously restricted articulation, but it's still there. (and I have say nothing about the ankles) --GUIGUI 14:37, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, you mean his thumb. Yeah, I wasn't sure if it was notable since its so pathetically useless :) --FFN 14:56, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, thumb (sorry for using the wrong word). But as the designers of the toy have purposely put a thumb articulation, even if it is almost inexistent, it should be mentioned.--GUIGUI 15:04, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
Success
[edit]Does Ratchet ever actually successfully service -anyone- medically? It seems to me all he ever managed to accomplish was a TEMPORARY fix of Bumblebee's voice.. none of the other wounds or near-deaths could he do the slightest thing about. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 173.11.36.165 (talk • contribs){{#if:| {{{2}}}|}}.
- He fixed Bumblebee's legs and got himself and Ironhide back on their feet after Starscream shot them. Alientraveller 13:31, 6 November 2009 (EST)
Cyber Missions voice actor
[edit]Ratchet sounds a lot like John Cygan. - Starfield 18:53, 4 March 2010 (EST)
- Whoever he is, I'm nigh-certain it's the same guy who did Ironhide in the last two, and hell, he's probably the guy who did Lockdown and Bludgeon too. And I woulnd't be surprised if THAT turned out to be Ron Hayden. A voice acting budget, this thing does not have. - Chris McFeely 18:58, 4 March 2010 (EST)
Toy Photos
[edit]I have quite a few of the Ratchet toys that currently use stock photos and was planning on taking some photos next week for the wiki, but I noticed that several of the jokes in the captions rely on the stock photos. (Specifically the legends Ratchet and legends Rescue Ratchet vs. Brawl.) Would it be better to leave those alone? Also, I have both color variants of legends Ratchet. If I do take photos of him, which one should I use? Kookaburra 06:24, 13 March 2010 (EST)
Triva
[edit]The very first trivia bullet point says that Ratchet became an ambulance at some point during the production of the movie, but...this is not true. Should this part be changed to only include his color change? Kookaburra 13:03, 19 May 2010 (EDT)
- Thanks for the alert. I've removed it. It never made sense to me since Ratchet was never an ambulance in these movies. --FFN 13:29, 19 May 2010 (EDT)
- You know what's even more awesome? We contradict ourselves at the very bottom of the trivia section by stating contrary to what we were told by the powers, Ratchet is not in fact an ambulance. --FFN 13:35, 19 May 2010 (EDT)
Toy packaging
[edit]One of the trivia notes states "Ratchet's toy packaging proclaims he has an "Automorph Forearm Cannon"." Which toy is this in reference to? The 2007 Voyager? --abates 01:38, 5 September 2010 (EDT)
- I think it refers to the ROTF Deluxe. When you press the canon into place, little clips pop out to hold it. I checked the back of the package photos [1], but it calls it out as a "Mech Alive" gimmick, not "Automorphing" like the 2007 packaging did. However, the Night Ops Ratchet box calls out "Automorphing Forearm claw" on the back of the box.--Kookaburra 10:53, 5 September 2010 (EDT)
Beast Wars?
[edit]I was gonna remove it but I thought I should check. How in the hell is he a BW Autobot?--210.56.91.189 11:14, 3 February 2012 (EST)
- He's an Autobot who appeared in Beast Wars. Specifically, the Beast Wars Diorama Story. - Chris McFeely 11:20, 3 February 2012 (EST)
- God bless Japan. -Derik 13:44, 3 February 2012 (EST)
Mountain Dew Caption
[edit]Does anyone mind if I remove/change the caption on the picture of Ratchet analyzing Mountain Dew? It seems to be mocking Americans ("all Americans," as the caption says) based on an inflammatory stereotype (i.e. that "all Americans" are obese). It doesn't really seem appropriate here, but maybe that's just me. What do you think? Thirtysilver 06:37, 22 June 2013 (EDT)
- I don't reeeeeally see it. I mean, if I wrote a caption saying "Why can't Ratchet tell all Americans about the dangers of smoking?", I wouldn't be implying all Americans smoke, would I? I see it as a "Ratchet needs to spread the truth about Mountain Dew" kind of thing. (And besides, if you think that's an inappropriate joke you should see the ones about Kiss Players...) Jalaguy 12:04, 22 June 2013 (EDT)
- Plus we Americans are fatties. -LV 12:14, 22 June 2013 (EDT)
- I think what I'd infer from "Why can't Ratchet tell all Americans about the dangers of smoking?" is that the author either believes that all Americans smoke or that Americans are more likely to smoke. Both are nonsensical claims, and they seem to come from an anti-American place; at the very least, I would be left saying, "Why only Americans? Why not anyone else? Maybe it's because the author thinks Americans are dumb." That being said, this isn't a big issue or anything, and you make a good point about the Kiss Players captions. It's cool. We can leave it as is. No problem. Thirtysilver 15:49, 22 June 2013 (EDT)

Is he dead?
[edit]I would guess that in the AOE Trailer, ratchet dies. Could this be true? CheeseMan (talk) 06:03, 5 March 2014 (EST)
- We won't know for sure until the movie comes out, but I'd be wary of claiming something in an article based on a potentially misleading trailer. He could simply be badly damaged, or it could just be yet another case of model reuse. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 16:26, 5 March 2014 (EST)
- This answer your question?--Transfan113 (talk) 02:40, 22 May 2014 (EDT)
- Not really. See my previous statement. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 14:07, 22 May 2014 (EDT)
- I just saw the movie, and it confirmed his death, care to repeat your statement? Or do you need to hear it from Michael Bay himself stating he indeed DIES!?!Transfan113 (talk) 21:18, 1 July 2014 (EDT)
