The Official Word on Sentinel Major

[edit]

Jesse Wittenrich replied to a posting I made on the Club Magazine subforum at the TFCC site to say the following:

G1 Sentinel Prime's only importance (other than dying) was that he was the Matrix bearer and leader of the Autobots before Optimus. Since Sentinel Major is not a Matrix bearer nor the leader of the Autobots, well...{{#if:|{{{quote2}}}}}{{#if:|{{{2}}}{{#if:|, {{{3}}}|}}|}}

He clarified this in a second reply by saying:

He's a separate character from the G1 comic Sentinel Prime's character/archetype{{#if:|{{{quote2}}}}}{{#if:|{{{2}}}{{#if:|, {{{3}}}|}}|}}

So, I think that makes it fairly clear, no? Thanks to Jeysie for double-checking with him on what he meant. -- Ayellowbirds 20:57, 7 April 2010 (EDT)

Yes, I agree that the article should stay here. Wings of Honor Sentinel Major is an homage to Animated Sentinel Prime. Animated Sentinel Prime may share a name with G1 Sentinel Prime, but that's literally all he shares. Therefore, we logically treat Sentinel Major as a new character that homages someone named Sentinel Prime, within the G1 continuity family, but is still not G1 Sentinel Prime in any way shape or form. It's very straightforward regarding how we generally handle things on the wiki, and I see no need to muddy the waters save with a disambig tag at the top.--RosicrucianTalk 22:48, 7 April 2010 (EDT)
He looks a little like the U-Haul robot now that I think about it.ACIDSTORM92 22:03, 26 August 2010 (EDT)

The Sentinel Prime here was a member of the Elite Guard before ascending to Prime. He's also kind of a jerk. Blurs the line more, yes? --ItsWalky 15:11, 22 June 2010 (EDT)
