Talk:Snarl (FOC)
Is he Slug or Snarl?
- Snarl. Slug is the triceratops. --Detour 16:22, 4 September 2012 (EDT)
Rescue bots academy
[edit]Are we really sure that these Snarl and Sludge are the artificial Dinobots from Fall of Cybertron? I know that they share similiar designs, but also Robots in Disguise Grimlock now changed for a body similar to his Cybertron games' counterpart and he's not the same character. --Grievous Prime (talk) 06:57, 29 May 2020 (EDT)
- I figure we just leave em alone cuz this Aligned mess is getting tiring.Freakertron (talk) 11:38, 21 June 2020 (EDT)
Seems this and Sludge were split and then re-merged and now they're marked to split again? I'm not sure why "Dinobot named Snarl in the Aligned continuity family" can't all be on this one page. --abates (talk) 04:09, 18 February 2021 (EST)
- And it looks like they've been split again? Perhaps there should be some sort of discussion instead of people unilaterally deciding on major changes. --abates (talk) 15:17, 17 March 2021 (EDT)
- That's on NexusShard for doing so without consulting anyone. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 19:17, 19 March 2021 (EDT)
- Can we get this settled before NexusShard goes any further with their edits? --Khajidha (talk) 12:18, 22 March 2021 (EDT)
- I thought the Dinobots featured in Robots in Disguise and Rescue Bots Academy were unrelated to the Dinobots featured in Fall of Cybertron due to their origins being different. -- NexusShard17 (talk) 13:07, 22 March 2021 (EDT)

Regardless, I don't think they're separate enough to justify a split. (But then again, I don't know if there's enough of a difference to separate out Slug (Adventure) or Swoop (Adventure) either.) -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 13:51, 22 March 2021 (EDT)
- My feeling is that if we're treating them as the same continuity family, they should share a page even if they're not in direct continuity with each other for the same reason that, say, Comics G1 Jetfire and Cartoon G1 Jetfire share a page. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 14:19, 22 March 2021 (EDT)
- This is exactly my thought. I feel like the confusion stems from people treating Aligned as a single continuity rather than a continuity family and then treating the character differences as an indication there are two separate individuals named Snarl running around. --abates (talk) 15:28, 22 March 2021 (EDT)
I cannot say I agree. RID and RBA ignore WFC and FOC almost wholesale, and so I think Snarl and Sludge as friends of Grimlock and Dinobots in RBA speaks to them being completely different from the wartime Autobot team. S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent 47 (talk) 02:16, 26 March 2021 (EDT)
- If the FOC versions and the RBA versions share the same qualities (Dinobots, friends with Grimlock), shouldn't that mean they can be regarded as the same characters? Again, this is similar to the Jetfire example above, where they're the same basic characters but don't experience the same events because the games and the cartoons aren't the same continuity. --abates (talk) 06:32, 26 March 2021 (EDT)
- About that, the pages for Adventure Swoop and Slug are slated to be merged with their Fall of Cybertron counterparts because that Japan never got any decent amount of Fall of Cybertron fiction. These two Adventure characters do not have a lot of fiction or any conflicting ones at that. On top of that, they share nothing in common with the Fall of Cybertron characters besides having similar beast modes. Therefore, the split for Snarl and Sludge may not be necessary. -- NexusShard17 (talk) 09:22, 23 July 2021 (EDT)
