Talk:Spinister (G1)
Spinister's Earthforce death
[edit]Bludgeon, Octopunch and Stranglehold were the only prisoners the Autobots had in later issues, making it pretty clear Spinister died with the other Mayhems. If you want to throw a little ambiguity onto it, Drmick, that's fine -- but one big long note detailing everything else Simon Furman was doing with characters from then through Armada's Worlds Collide isn't necessary to make the point. --Xaaron 20:02, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
- I think I will edit the "death". Remember, Spinister "later" took a Matrix-powered-Thunderwing shot to the chest, and walked away, so I'm reckoning he's pretty resilient.
- Besides, just because he wasn't in custody doesn't mean he was killed, he was shot away from the action.
- The introduction to Spinister's is drivel, I'm sorry to say, having only a passing resemblance to his Tech Specs, and nothing to do with his comic character.
- He also appeared in a slighty apocryphal TF UK Annual story involvng Scoop. --Drmick 15:37, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
- The intro is not drivel, because our intros try to incorporate major characterisation elements from the character as they appeared in different fictions. His 'mysterious' nature is from his More than Meets the Eye bio. --FFN 15:57, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
I appreciate that my pictures have helped, but somebody out there is going to great lengths to keep Spinister dead! I mean, deleting the picture (some might say proof :) ) that Spinister can survive a Matrix-powered Thunderwing blast to the chest, and yet leaving in Carnivac's shot is harsh.
- The picture of him still being alive doesn't contribute anything that text cannot. I kept the other images because they had adequate views of Spinister himself. --ItsWalky 19:30, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
Funny boxart tag
[edit]And in what way is the canned meat comment funny, let alone related to the character?
I'm not fond of the humour on the pics in this wiki, but something like: "I lost my cloaking device because I left it turned on", would explain it's absence from comics continuity.
Drmick 15:50, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
- His Targetmaster gun there is two guys in metal suits. Hence 'canned meat'. --FFN 15:57, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
- I understood what canned meat referred to, I don't see it in any way as being funny. And his boxart only shows one "guy in metal suit". What's the relevance to Spinister? Why not put the same term on all the Targetmasters? In what way was he mysterious outside of the Tech Specs/Bios? Drmick 21:26, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

- "The intro is not drivel, because our intros try to incorporate major characterisation elements from the character as they appeared in different fictions. His 'mysterious' nature is from his More Than Meets The Eye bio."
- While he didn't appear in Dreamwave's actual G1 comic to my recollection, it was obviously amusing enough for us to emphasise it, as it was a major part of his MTMTE bio.
- And please format your replies like we do so we can keep track of who is saying what. --FFN 05:06, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, both his Targetmasters are combined into one gun on the pic. And I found it comical. --74.57.3.251 21:39, 10 March 2008 (UTC) (Detour at work)
Worlds Collide version
[edit]Since this Spinister exists in the same universe as Over-Run and many Mini-Cons (before they crossed over into other continuity families), shouldn't he be at "Spinister (Armada)"? —Interrobang 06:10, 13 February 2012 (EST)
- That's not how we determine what goes in the ()s. --ItsWalky 09:13, 13 February 2012 (EST)
- I'm not sure what the parentheses have to do with the gist of my comment. —Interrobang 09:22, 13 February 2012 (EST)
- Over-Run doesn't get an (Armada) tag because he's from an Armada universe. He gets an (Armada) tag because he first appears in an Armada franchise. Spinister, hailing from an unknown universe, is older than that. --ItsWalky 09:40, 13 February 2012 (EST)
- So assuming an universe with an emphasis on Over-Run and Mini-Cons is Aurex is out of the question? (And why does Optimus Prime (Worlds Collide) have his own article, either way?) —Interrobang 10:11, 13 February 2012 (EST)
- He has his own article because we were young and stupid. --ItsWalky 10:34, 13 February 2012 (EST)

Hold up a sec. In an unpublished page from Energon #31 (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v213/joshperez/Energon31_inks_pg10_colors.jpg), we can clearly see Mirage (G1) dying with Inferno, Tow-Line, and other Energon characters. Are you saying that if that issue came out, that character would be recorded on the Mirage (G1) page, even though he's a native of an Energon/Aurex universe? --Xaaron 11:30, 13 February 2012 (EST)
- Were that to have come out, we know he's an Aurex-universe native. It's not really the same as alternate-universe-Spinister-in-a-story-with-alt-universe-Bludgeon-Dirge-Scourge-and-Thunderwing. --ItsWalky 12:23, 13 February 2012 (EST)
- Rereading the story, there isn't anything indicating that Spinister and Over-Run are from the same universe, as Over-Run's article indicated. I'm dropping the argument. (Although Optimus Prime (Worlds Collide) should still be merged with Optimus Prime (G1).) —Interrobang 12:49, 13 February 2012 (EST)
- Oh, okay. I thought that was the issue...Prime got sent to Over-Run's reality and met a native Spinister. If Prime was just in some random reality Unicron was devouring, then that removes the confusion. Cool. --Xaaron 14:14, 13 February 2012 (EST)

Moved discussion from "Talk:Spinister (Kre-O)"
[edit]"He is not an old childless woman who has never married." What the heck? 66.82.162.38 18:15, 14 August 2012 (EDT)
- For some reason, a lot of people misspell Spinister as Spinster. It's not really that funny, but there isn't much else to put on this page as of yet. --Khajidha 18:24, 14 August 2012 (EDT)
- The new bios are out now at the Kre-O website. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.194.12.20 (talk • contribs){{#if:| {{{2}}}|}}.
