Okay, I dont' speak Japanese. I'm basing the statement Strarda was destroyed on MK's reactions, and Neal Davidson's tech-spec for Mach Kick, which mentioens the thoroughbred Corps destruction. This is what Hydra said when I asked what his name was:

I really don't remember the circumstances relating to the disbanding of his team, but his commander's name is Strarda, which is some sort of horse-related thing. Might be a breed, I'm not sure.

In the episode itself, Mach kick calls him what sounds to me like Sto-rada.

Without knowing what the name is supposed to be a play on (and I don't think it's 'Strider' based on pronunciation, so I'm assuming it's Japanese) I'm inclined to trust Hydra's spelling, as he's generally Anal about such things. -Derik 04:04, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

His name is su-ta-raa-da. Strada. Which seems to be ... Italian for "Road". However, some google hits indicate it's also the name of an Italian film from the '50s by Federico Fellini with some kind of striking horse imagery (a rather popular film, being the first to win the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film). Also, 82,700 hits for "strada" plus the respective katakana in google.
