Talk:Super Dimension Fortress Macross
Is'We of the TFWiki have no sympathy to attempt fairness toward Harmony Gold 'because they do not deserve any'not subjective and out of place? It also doesn't seem particularly connected to transformers. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Retrofuturistic Robot (talk • contribs){{#if:| {{{2}}}|}}.
Yeah, this whole page feels very detailed for something that is only tangentially related to Transformers. And while Harmony Gold does suck, that section just feels like one persons own personal rant, like a relic from the wiki 20 years ago. AkibaSilver (talk) 11:55, 9 September 2024 (EDT)
- I don't feel like I know enough about Macross personally to do so but I agree that the page could probably stand to be toned down some. Locoman (talk) 16:09, 9 September 2024 (EDT)
I've cut the story and mecha sections for not being sufficiently relevant to the TF side of things. And while I do think the Harmony Gold section can stand to be trimmed down, putting most of the focus on how it's affected TF, we absolutely do not need to be any nicer to them because they are that awful and do deserve every bit of the hate they get. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 20:57, 9 September 2024 (EDT)
- Sure, but admittedly I think it's probably something we should retract since it sounds very opinionated and, umm, it could cause us problems later.Poliwag06 (talk) 21:03, 9 September 2024 (EDT)
- Harmony Gold can't do jack shit to us. This is a non-concern. And as for "opinionated"... what wiki do you think you're reading? --M Sipher (talk) 21:05, 9 September 2024 (EDT)
- Exactly. Harmony Gold's awful business practices are [[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}Harmony Gold USA#Legal issues regarding Macross copyright|{{#if:well-known, with myriad sources to back it up|well-known, with myriad sources to back it up|Harmony Gold USA#Legal issues regarding Macross copyright}}]]. Nothing false is stated, meaning it's not libelous, and calling them awful (something we've been doing to other shitty people since the days of Pat Lee) is protected free speech. Acknowledging people might have different opinions about a show's quality is one thing, but we do not have to be nice to the big corporation that's been running a huge grift for decades. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 21:36, 9 September 2024 (EDT)
- Oh fwiw I totally believe Harmony Gold is shit, the multiple paragraphs and phrasing as were felt overwrought (and unfunny) for the point being made when it was already tangential, but I also did not know enough about Macross to want to reword it. AkibaSilver (talk) 16:31, 10 September 2024 (EDT)
