Mighty Christ, THERE'S A SECOND PART TO THIS STORY. And someone's going to read it, and I have this crushing certainty it's going to be me. Chip 21:22, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

  • What...is that thing? -- SFH 21:23, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
A Dinobot combiner from an exclusive comic that was for something I can't recall.--ZacWilliam 21:24, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Metrodome DVD set. I read scans of this a long time ago, but I lose them. Are they floating around somewhere? (I feel like I should file them for reference, even though I have no desire to read them.) -Derik 21:27, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

You don't read this comic. You witness it. Like a train wreck. --M Sipher 21:31, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Dear god! This thing reads like a very bad fancomic! Is there a story to why this was included with DVD sets? Detour 22:36, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
That is, basically, exactly what it is. I don't think there was any special story to why it happened - Metrodome just wanted to do something a little different, and unfortunately, this is what they got. - Chris McFeely 22:42, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
I remember Linkage was in the middle of running when part 1 came out. I assumed it was Metrodome going "Hey, DVD pack-in comic the hardcore transfans love to bits! That's serious value-added to encourage people to purchase a DVD they may otherwise be disinclined to pony up for! Lets give ours twice as many pages and use the original G1 cast, that will make it much better than the dinky 3-page Japaneses comics, right? But instead of having an accomplished expert storyteller whose vast experience enables him to do a story in 3 pages, lets farm it out to some fans! That'll work!" -Derik 23:29, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
  • Take the links off, Interrobang, take them off! I can't help but look at them! Also, it probably violates some copywrite law. -- SFH 22:39, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
    • I don't think anybody cares enough about copyright when it comes to this comic. We would've had our ass fried a long time ago for not really giving fair use justification to images, anyway. Interrobang 22:43, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
Are there links to part 2? I need to archive it for reference. :~( -Derik 23:29, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
No! Put links to the next part! It stinks, yes, but now I have to see the rest!!! ARGH! It's terrible and great at the same time! Put up links to the next one! The RIBFIR Dude 17:23, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

A profound and moving narrative that forces the audience to re-evaluate all conceptions of their identity. Both thrilling and immersive, The Beast Within redefines the era as it forces a new standard of storytelling. Starting on an epic battle comparable to Lord Of Ring or Matrix, but the conflict pales in comparison to the internal emotional sturggle of Grimlock as he's forced to restraint his own emotions for the sake of his tactical ideology. Pushes to both physical and psychological limit, he and his compatriots fused, physically and conceptually into a unified truth that mirrors us all. But with this revelation of this most sacred ability comes a new threat to the Autobots, and yet a threat familar. I'm not going to re-read and see if any of that makes sense.--Zodberg 22:50, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, you should substitute that for the 'Everything that was wrong with Dreamwave comics happens!' 1 sentence-summary.
I'm 100% serious. It much better captures the problems/the spirit/this story. -Derik 23:17, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Absolutely bloody classic.

The lack of punctuation punctuates the humor. "Grimlock no!" Grimlock no what?

I wonder what "valuable guidance" Simon Furman provided? Other than saying "Nurse, the screens!" when he read this. Dj convoy 23:53, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

And "definitely" is spelled without an "a", damn it. Even the comics have fallen to the "a" scourge.--MCRG 04:53, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

After learning that the Dinobot combiner has become official, I have decided that I'm quitting the hobby. Transformers has been ruined FOREVER. --Sntint 03:56, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

Jesus H. Christ. I know I asked about the Dinobot Combiner but... I mean, damn. I mean, holy Hell. Why would anyone draw that?--MCRG 04:48, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

So are we going to get scans of part 2 as well? Detour 09:18, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

I think the DEATH PENALTY should be used to deter fanboys from ever writing official fiction ever again. Unless they're already accomplished writers or professionals. --FFN 13:04, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

Try reading it for sheer laughs. Its kinda funny seeing Cosmos go down in flames, and the Decepticon cheerleading squad's "Kill it Predaking!!!" is a hoot! When (and WHY) was this established as canon? --Evil-yuusha 14:00, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

TF canon is everything that Hasbro and/or Takara has approved of ever. If the DVD release was official (it was, wasn't it?), then the included comic must've been approved as well. - Jackpot 20:46, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
Yeah its an official DVD set from Metrodome in the UK. --FFN 21:29, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
I think this definition confuses the word "canon" with "official." The story is (sadly) undeniably official. I don't think that it can be considered "canon," because (as is stated within the article itself) it can't fit in pretty much any known continuity. Yeah, yeah, I know what the linked Wiki article says. My point stands. There's no such thing as a "single item canon."--G.B. Blackrock 16:14, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
I don't think it can be considered any more canon than those one-shot catalogue comics that came with the Armada toys. Takeshi357 17:00, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

So... no one has scans of the second part of the story? This really feels like something one must view in its entirety... Detour 00:34, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

NO. In fact, I propose the the deletion of this entire article and anything related to it, so we can all safely pretend it doesn't even exist. Takeshi357 13:48, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
Scans of both parts can be got at http://www.megaupload.com/?d=9M0UNCLC - the plus side is they're in Spanish, and all the better for it (sounds like the lettering is an improvement for a start). The downside is it's still crap. The Ideon 16:37, 31 May 2009 (EDT)
megaupload has been removed, damn it. --205.250.176.157 23:34, 30 June 2012 (EDT)

The "The Beast"

[edit]

Can we get some more justification on this wording? "Because." isn't very sufficient, except to imply that it's just to be goofy. Which is fine, in theory, but this particular execution doesn't work. It just looks like bad English. --Sntint 21:40, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

It's just to be goofy. --ItsWalky 23:01, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

Jamieson is still proud

[edit]

Should mention be made in the article that the writer is still proud of the work, and in fact maintains that it's the reader's fault for not understanding it's brilliance? Sledge 17:38, 13 November 2009 (EST)

Where is this stated? —Interrobang 17:12, 14 November 2009 (EST)
I think we cover this well enough already on Jamieson's page. --ItsWalky 17:42, 14 November 2009 (EST)
[edit]

Someone uploaded this comic on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTkhG2s9xO0 It includes both parts.--Primestar3 (talk) 07:51, 29 July 2015 (EDT)
