Asterix reference?

When everyone gathers around Skids to receive a temporary power boost, Chromedome tells Tailgate to keep a distance: "Not you, Tailgate. You've already taken your magic medicine."

I took that as a reference to French comic Asterix, where Obelix was constantly denied drinking the magic potion (which gives the main characters a temporary power boost) because he had fallen inside the druid's cauldron as a child, thus permanently gaining superhuman strength.

Does anyone agree that the similarities are close enough to qualify for an obvious reference?--Nevermore (talk) 06:27, 20 November 2016 (EST)
