disambigs
[edit]DON'T BLAME ME FOR THE UNNECESSARY DISAMBIGUATION! BLAME THE DERIK FROM SIX MONTHS AGO WHO PUT THEM THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE.
I DIVORCE MYSELF FROM THE YOUTHFUL INDISCRETIONS OF MY PAST SELF. -Derik 20:59, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
- The problem is you added new links to those disambig redirects. You should not be doing that! But so long as you're learning. Sort of! --ItsWalky 21:06, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
- I was hoping that if I didn't disturb the old links no one would notice the original error.
- OH GOD, IT'S JUST LIKE THE BUSH ADMINISTAION! THE COVERUP IS WORSE THAN THE LIE!
- No, wait... if I follow the standards of the Bush Administration, that means I shouldn't be punished. Sweet! Republicans: the new 'soft on crime' party. -Derik 21:19, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
Earthforce
[edit]I've been going through the Earthforce comics recently, and I'm wondering what the evidence really is that this story takes place in that continuity? Yes, there are Earthforce related characters involved, but nothing from that continuity is specifically referenced as far as I see. Yes, they mention a failed attempt at alliance with the Decepticons, but that just means it's not in continuity with the main US strips. Since Inferno is here and not with the Survivors, this story can't taken place between ...Perchance to Dream in #260 and the forming of Earthforce in #263, so it would have to take place at some point after the end of the Earthforce Saga, when the Earthforce soldiers were back on the Ark and no longer under Grimlock's command. Doesn't seem like a good argument to me, especially since we'd have to believe Prime is no closer to dealing with the Unicron problem in this "distant future" than he was when Earthforce started.
I think this is just one of those generic, non-continuity Annual stories like Plague of the Insecticons!, or Trigger-Happy!. --Xaaron 03:04, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
Cast choices
[edit]I'm not sure if these should go in as items of error/note but am I the only one who finds it strange that it's suddenly established Inferno has a significant past with Prowl et al, despite never appearing in the comic with most of the others (give or take the battlefield in "Time Wars") until "Where Wolf?"? And that Ironhide is absent? Would it perhaps have made more sense, especially given the Classic Heroes focus of the annual, to give Inferno's role to Ironhide and Silverbolt's role to Inferno? - P.S. I've just remembered the fan theory that Inferno was a mainly off-panel member of the original cast occasionally spotted - e.g. a possible cameo in "Decepticon Dam-Busters!" and it would help to allow "Missing in Action" in the Transformers Annual 1985 to take place in continuity - similar to Red Alert. In "Firebug!" his dialogue suggests he's not a member of the Wreckers and the theory runs that he's one of the Earthbound Autobots assigned as a liaison with them.
