Merchandise release years

[edit]

I was working on updating the 1984 page with a list of merchandise for which I could find copyright dates and found a problem with my strategy. It would seem that copyright dates are not a reliable indicator of when merchandise is released. For instance, there are several kites with copyright dates of 1984. But I can't imagine kites being released in September (being the earliest anything Transformers would likely have been released) or later in the U.S., given they would be out of season for most areas of the United States. Also, the number of items with a 1984 copyright date is larger than I would expect to have been released before knowing whether or not the line would be a hit. I've counted around 20 so far, and still have 40 or so items to look through. Does this make sense? And if so, how, if at all, do we come up with a release year for these items? --Tigerpaw28 14:39, 29 December 2009 (EST)

Transformers MB board game

[edit]

I just found a tabletop board game i found on a fleamarket, but i can't find it anywere and can't find info on it. It's based on season 3 (it has galvatron on it with Cyclonus fighting Springer, Defensor and Silverbold. The player's goal is to draw cards and make the pions move to the Decepticon HQ. All the pions are actualy transforming figures(they fold up). Anyone know anything about this?--Sunjumper 15:52, 16 February 2011 (EST)

I'd be ready to bet that it's not documented on the wiki yet, we've got like, five board games listed here. Sounds interesting though! --Ascendron 16:54, 16 February 2011 (EST)
Info at Wikipedia. Having a page on it here would be awesome --abates 17:07, 16 February 2011 (EST)
