Current Status

[edit]

The Ark was supposed to ship at the end of may. BN.com just changes it status from pre-release to 'we do not have a copy available.' (Thats because bn.com's status boards suck.)

I got an e-mail saying We regret to inform you that our supplier has changed the release date on the pre-ordered merchandise listed below. We expect to ship the item(s) soon and will send you an email when it is ready to leave our warehouse..

Given that IDW publicly solicited this as recently as last month, I expect it's just running late (which is fairly common.) -Derik 17:48, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

It comes out tomorrow. (Thursday instead of usual Wednesday because of holiday weekend.) --ItsWalky 17:58, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
So BN's crappy status-system merely had the date mis-listed, great!
('comes out' is relative, as it hasn't hit warehouses yet, but yes.)
Thanks Walky! -Derik 18:01, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Article name

[edit]

I'm not sure about the title of this article... we generally leave the word "Transformers" out of article titles unless there is no other option, as in the movie or the movie game. I feel sort of like this should just be "The Ark", "The Ark (book)", or "The Ark: A Complete Compendium of Transformers Animation Models". --Steve-o 17:53, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

Whatevs yo- as long as you fix the links. -Derik 23:40, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

Er... Dark Zeratul apparently liked my idea and moved the page, but, I think he jumped the gun a bit. I also dislike "Ark (Book)". First, I think "The" should be there just like for any other book, comic, or episode title. Second, "book" should not be capitalized. Third... I would have waited a little longer to see if anybody else had input. So, I still propose moving the page. --Steve-o 04:42, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

I vote "The Ark: A Complete Compendium of Transformers Animation Models" in order to make sure there's no damn confusion. Especially since I'm willing to bet we may see another book called "The Ark". --M Sipher 04:51, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

Why do we leave out "Transformers" out of article titles, again? It seems... wrong to me to leave out parts of the proper title. Interrobang 16:23, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

As I understand it, it's only when the name would otherwise be "Transformers ________" so we don't end up with a million articles like "Transformers: Nitroburn", "Transformers: Fireblast" and "Transformers: Monkeybutter."--Rosicrucian 17:16, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

I just got the book from Amazon today, mine's cover just says "TRANSFORMERS" at the top of the cover and "THE ARK: A Complete Compendium Of Character Designs" at the bottom of the cover, followed by the compilers' names.... --Detour 17:37, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

So just like the image in the article. --ItsWalky 18:03, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
Oh... Last time I checked the article it still had the green image seen on the talk page. But yeah, same as that. Did the book get two covers or something? --Detour 23:19, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

Although the new article title matches what is written on the front cover, I noticed that the title given inside (as well as in the book's indicia) is just "Transformers: The Ark". So, um... I have no idea what to do. --Steve-o 19:54, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
