DOTM?

[edit]

Is this a Dark of the Moon book? It doesn't say "Dark of the Moon" on it anywhere, does it? Should original characters from this book like Tracer be put at "Tracer (DOTM)"? - Starfield 00:32, 25 October 2011 (EDT)

IIRC we used (Classified) as a placeholder, but it takes place after ROTF and reads like a ROTF tie-in novel, and relies on plot elements cut from the ROTF film (but which made it into the novelizations.)
If anything they shoudl be disambig' (RotF), but I know that's not going to happen, so... -Derik 01:22, 25 October 2011 (EDT)

I again object to the (DOTM) disambig. This isn't a DOTM book. -Derik 02:41, 25 October 2011 (EDT)

And Transformers: Exiles isn't technically a Prime book. That doesn't mean we can't save ourselves the headache and just apply the disambiguation of the last franchise relevant to the fiction. —Interrobang 02:48, 25 October 2011 (EDT)
Gotcha. No DOTM characters, focuses on ROTF characters, takes place after ROTF-- makes it a DOTM media. -Derik 02:51, 25 October 2011 (EDT)
Released after DOTM and meant to cash into the post-DOTM craze. Stop being obtuse. —Interrobang 02:52, 25 October 2011 (EDT)
So can we dispense with the (PCC) disambig then? -Derik 02:54, 25 October 2011 (EDT)
Considering how it's an actual franchise, no. —Interrobang 02:55, 25 October 2011 (EDT)
And Transformers: Classified isn't? It's got it's own imprint and presumably has more books forthcoming! -Derik 02:57, 25 October 2011 (EDT)
A single book series does not constitute its own franchise in the wiki's view, no. [citation needed] on the "forthcoming" books. —Interrobang 02:59, 25 October 2011 (EDT)
Book isn't a done-in-one and ends on a "quest begins" and a last-page shock reveal. It's clearly a series. That is implied by the title, but I suppose it's not 100% clear unless you've read the book. -Derik 03:04, 25 October 2011 (EDT)
I also support "Category:Classified Autobots," "Category:Classified Decepticons," and "Category:Classified humans." - Starfield 20:32, 26 October 2011 (EDT)
Having read the book, it doesn't make any sense to me to disambig anyone from it with "(DOTM)". It would be like disambiguating a character from an Armada-era story in Transformers: Legends with an Energon parenthetical because that was the Unicron Trilogy series on TV at the time. --abates 04:26, 27 October 2011 (EDT)
The Armada/Energon line is much more cleaner than ROTF/DOTM, but I'm not as bothered with "(ROTF)" as I am with "(Classified)". But Starfield went full-speed into the "Classified" direction, so whatever. —Interrobang 01:14, 28 October 2011 (EDT)

The back dust jacket describes it as a series. "TRANSFORMERS SECRETS REVEALED! The first classified mission in an all-new Transformers series. The battle begins now...." is the exact quote. Shockscream 20:03, 26 October 2011 (EDT)
