Talk:Transformers Collected Comics

I was in two minds about whether Collected Comic warranted their own article as they only contained reprints from the Marvel UK comic but I decided that as they were printed for more years than the comic itself and were responsible for giving us the only colour reprint of Enemy Within they deserved a bit of limelight. Plus I think they are quite collectible anyway so I thought what the hell…

Space Pirates

IIRC, the Marvel UK letters page answered a readers inquiry abotu the reprinting oddity... the film originals for the second half of the comic were lost in shipping, and they didn't have a backup.

That was actually Target 2006 which was hit. No explanation was given for not finishing Space Pirates, though one letter around May 1991 (when they were advertising #18 with Time Wars) implied the reader (and perhaps other fans) had missed the first part. Timrollpickering 11:08, 25 June 2009 (EDT)

Include here or not?

There was also a one-off special entitled "Plague of the Insecticons!" reprinting material from the 1985/6 annual. I'm not sure whether to include it here or not, though as we have included the Movie adaptation special it may make sense.

(I am not 100% sure even what year this was released. The legal info says "1985" but the back cover is an advert for the Special Teams that I don't think appeared until 1986. ISBN look-up sites generally can't trace this but this site says 1987. Also there doesn't appear to be a copy in the British Library - or for that matter the Care Bears, Popples and Thundercats specials that came out at the same time. So I've plumped for 1986 and assumed the copyright info was either recycled or anchored with the annual.)

Quick update RE 'The Enemy Within!'

Having now been included in IDW's "The Transformers Classics UK Volume 1", the passage concerning the relative rarity of 'The Enemy Within!' reprints is now obsolete. As such, I've taken the liberty of deleting this entire paragraph.

This trade reprint has also spoiled the caption joke in the top-right corner - I've changed it myself, but as I'm not exactly the wittiest man on the planet, I shan't be overly offended if someone comes along and gives it another stab!--Ryan Frost 14:33, 7 June 2012 (EDT)
