Talk:Unit:E (issue)

I kind of don't know how I feel about this getting its own page. The Transformers presence is essentially an unnamed cameo appearance. This is as much a Transformers story as it is, say, a Forgotten Realms one, by virtue of Drizzt showing up in the same splash page as the TFs. -hx 12:59, 20 May 2013 (EDT)

It does get an Easter Egg in several episodes of TF Prime as well. I think that's enough to justify a small explanatory article. --ZacWilliam 13:10, 20 May 2013 (EDT)
I think a singular page about the entire aborted Unit:E franchise, comic and all, would be appropriate. It doesn't need a full issue recap. But talk about what it was meant to do (establish a cross-Hasbro multiverse which yes, would have included Transformers and other active Hasbro brands), what brands it DID include/cameo, and why it died (the ENTIRE department handling this kind of stuff got axed). --M Sipher 13:44, 20 May 2013 (EDT)
That, I can handle. As it stands, the promo comic was just... while it'd be kind of hilarious to have an entry on the wiki for Drizzt... -hx 13:46, 20 May 2013 (EDT)
Well, we do have several comic issue articles justified by Transformers cameos, like Infestation and that one G.I. Joe issue. I'm not interested in doing articles for every character (although I wouldn't see the harm if it were only restricted to media with Transformers in them, like we already do with GI Joe articles). The difference between those and this is that those comics are part of larger crossover stories that are in turn part of larger Transformers comic series/continuity, whereas Unit:E is just a one-time standalone deal not tied to any specific or existing Transformers series/continuity. This article as it is now makes as much sense as having an article here for an episode of Family Guy or South Park or Robot Chicken that had a Transformer appear in it. --Sabrblade 14:44, 20 May 2013 (EDT)
Those weren't by Hasbro or its licensees, though. I think those two panels of Transformers make this issue count as Transformers canon, however minor. Mimi 14:50, 20 May 2013 (EDT)
Yeah, that isn't exactly a fair comparison. We document things like a kid in an issue of GIJoe holding a Megatron toy, so this definitely warrants inclusion as official Hasbro product, it's just a matter of how much documentation it warrants. -hx 14:56, 20 May 2013 (EDT)

Considering this, I think we're fine having a write-up of the comic here. Probably don't need separate pages for all the appearing characters, though I wouldn't be opposed to it on principle, since a) the project is apparently DOA for all intents and purposes and b) it's not like anyone else on the internet is gonna do it. --Monzo 13:40, 12 June 2013 (EDT)
