Template talk:Badimage
This template needs Frenzy's pixilated view of Buster sneaking into the Ark from the early Marvel comics as its image. --FortMax 16:27, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
Or possibly the fuzzy image of Megatron (G1) from the Golden Disk recording in Beast Wars . . . JW 16:52, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
- But the low quality of Frenzy's view was actually mentioned in the comic. --FortMax 17:05, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
- I was thinkin' Grimlock's doodle of Megatron as a farmer from "Once upon a Time...", in the panel after [{Grimlock (G1)]]'s profile image, but that also works. --ItsWalky 19:18, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
We already have Template:Betterpic and :Category:Images in need of replacement. So, uh... somebody pick one set of names and do a merge or something. Whichever template we drop can be replaced with a redirect to the other, in case anybody prefers one name over the other. Template redirects work just fine. --Steve-o 22:47, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
- Since nobody seems to care, I went ahead and made a decision myself, and got rid of the old category. --Steve-o 15:36, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
For the image of this template, how about we use that image of Thundercracker looking at the polaroid he just took that was used at first for the imagesneeded template? Since polariods are poor quality photos compared to real film photos... --FFN 17:11, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
- I'd much rather try and mix up the image sources for templates as much as possible, rather than overdo the G1 cartoon images...
- Ooooh, I got it! The image of Movie Blackout through Epps' imager! Or the blurry image of him taken on Mars by the Beagle! We don't have any Movie images in the templates yet, I do believe... --M Sipher 19:27, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
- OR how about like... any of the 90% of the fight scenes in the movie? :P Seriously though, how would such detailed images look in an png that small? --FFN 19:51, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
Nonexistent page
[edit]This template links to a nonexistent page, which is now the "most wanted" page on the wiki. We should either create the page or change the template. Do we know what we want the page to say? JW 04:01, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
- Something about image standards. Bad images are;
- Fuzzy
- Jaggy
- Watermarked
- Small
- Confusing
- Degraded
- ...etc etc etc.
- We should probably also have a section about image sourcing- why we prefer stock photos over our own, our attitude towards 'found' photos, etc. (I had a post tryign to articulates some of that here.)
- Basically somethign tht captures- 'we don't just want any images; not all images are good- and even 'good images' aren't necessarily appropriate. Stop uploading 50 awesome-looking pictures of Optimus Prime standing around. We aren't a collection of pretty art. We want good, communicative images that we can feel (morally) good about displaying.'-Derik 09:04, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
