A thought occurs to me. Could we have this template attach a Category to the pages it appears on? "Upcoming Release Toys", maybe? It does seem like it'd be nice to have all those in one area. --M Sipher 18:10, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

I've set it up to Category:Upcomicg toy releases, but I don't know if there's a way to update the category's article list without editing every single page with the template. --FortMax 20:10, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
Looks like it's already taken care of by now, but the answer is "no". The category's won't know a page is in it until that page has been edited. However, a "null edit" or "touch" is good enough -- click the "edit" tab, then just "save page" without making any changes at all. Pretty painless. User:Diagnostic Drone can do this even more easily, of course, automatically touching all the pages that call the template. A null edut doesn't appear on the page history or recent changes list, either, FYI. --Steve-o 23:31, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

No image?

[edit]

Where did the photo of the Hasbro shipping case go?--Nevermore 00:00, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

It's probably related to the style changes I put through earlier today, but... the image is still appearing for me, so I can't imagine what the problem is. --Steve-o 02:54, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
I think Suki fixed the stylesheet, so templates like spoiler and comingsoontoy are working properly again.--RosicrucianTalk 02:58, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
Okay, apparently this otherwise visually simple template has so much code wizardry in it that Monaco hates its guts. I tried to convert it to a standard messagebox, but heck if I can find where that Hasbro box image actually is, and right clicking on it tells me nothing about the file.--RosicrucianTalk 23:22, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

Ah, danke. I've converted it to a normal messagebox until we can figure out how to make it play nice with Monaco.--RosicrucianTalk 23:36, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

Upcoming toys category problem

[edit]

Hey, uh...didn't this template used to put pages into an "upcoming toys" category? Can we fix it? - RolonBolon 01:42, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

Done. An oversight on my part. Appologies.--RosicrucianTalk 02:07, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

Not showing additional info

[edit]

The information after the horizontal line is not displaying. I've looked in 3 browsers (Chrome, Edge and Brave) and none are displaying it. --MistaTee (talk) 12:24, 12 June 2022 (EDT)

What counts as "released"

[edit]

So, throwing this out here... I think we need to narrow the definition of "released" and thus "take this template off a toy entry" a bit. Like... yes, technically, one comic shop getting one case of something is "released". But like... that does 99.99% of the readerbase no good, as tiny orders like this can show up quite a long time before outlets most people use will get theirs. I'm thinking that this template should come off once the bigger online stores start actually shipping stuff out or we get like, two sightings at major retail stores. --M Sipher (talk) 23:42, 18 June 2022 (EDT)

I've updated the template text to clarify. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 00:07, 19 June 2022 (EDT)
