Template talk:Factions/body

If anyone can get this to work properly (by which I mean sitting fully flush with the right side of the page without adding dead space for every empty option), and maybe even have it sit on its section header line like the original does on the page title line, please do. I'm going to bed. - Magnus Maximus 21:26, 11 April 2010 (EDT)

I think a lot of what makes the usual Factions template work is CSS and javascript, so you might have to wait until Derik's done with his hiatus. --Jeysie 10:14, 12 April 2010 (EDT)
Yeah, I figured that was the case, because it's got its own div id. I still think there's probably a way to get around that, though. - Magnus Maximus 13:08, 12 April 2010 (EDT)
Well, having it sit flush on the section header would definitely at best require CSS tweaks besides what you can put in the template itself.
What would be the point of this template, might I ask? Best I can think of is that you'd want to put a faction symbol on different Fiction headers, and I think there's likely an incredibly tiny number of characters where there would be much point of that. --Jeysie 14:09, 12 April 2010 (EDT)
For now, the point is really just for my own home video-related uses; TakaraTomy#Home video and Paramount Pictures#Home entertainment, where home video is only a small part of each company's connection to TF, so putting it at the top would be misleading. But it could also be used for characters that have changed factions for one specific continuity, and while it's true that they would very much be the exception, I don't see the harm in it either (assuming it works properly). - Magnus Maximus 14:29, 12 April 2010 (EDT)
You could conceivably use the flags in the toy sections to visually designate a toy as specific to certain regions. You could also add icons for the retailer exclusives. Just a few ideas.--Khajidha 14:36, 12 April 2010 (EDT)
That too. - Magnus Maximus 14:48, 12 April 2010 (EDT)
And you could mark fiction sections that are specific to one market as well. There's all sorts of possibilities. --Khajidha 14:56, 12 April 2010 (EDT)
I didn't mean to imply it would hurt anything, more wondering if it'd add enough information to be worth setting up and having to "train" people to add.
Unfortunately, I still don't think I, at least, can help either way, as I'm not sure how Derik even got the sucker working in the first place. I never really managed to wrap my head around how the recursive recalls and stuff involved fit together. --Jeysie 16:44, 12 April 2010 (EDT)
Well, I've got it near enough where I want it now, but there's still a big chunk of dead space where it used to be. I guess it'll do until Derik returns, though. - Magnus Maximus 05:08, 13 April 2010 (EDT)
