Tesarus is a Decepticon from the 2005 IDW portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
800 million people living in the ruin of the old world and the mega structures of the new one. Only one thing fighting for order in the chaos: judges.

Tesarus (aka Scissorsaw), or Tess to his friends, is a member of the Decepticon Justice Division, Megatron's pet enforcers. Easily bored, this massive Decepticon is built for torture. His gigantic size—as well as the pair of waldos that deploy over his shoulders—allows him to easily seize a smaller bot, at which point the cruel grinding blades housed in his chest cavity engage. Victims are lowered into this gnashing pit, but rarely fully dropped into it. Often, they wish they were.

Of course, Tesarus isn't just a violent murderer. Well, he is mostly a violent murderer, but he's also possessed of a strong devotion to the cause, and his fellow Decepticons. He doesn't like traitors, and intensely dislikes the thought of leaving 'bots behind. He also chafes at the idea of constant inspections, either medical or professional, and would be heard grumbling about them if Tarn allowed such talk. Tesarus also isn't lacking in intelligence either; he's got a pretty good memory and knows not to underestimate his quarry no matter how hopeless their odds are.

First appearance: More than Meets the Eye #7

Before joining the DJD, the current Tesarus was known as Scissorsaw. Do Not Go Gentle

At some point, Tesarus dispatched Borebit in a manner Tarn felt was "innovative". He also assisted in the capture of Heretech when the latter proved too difficult for Kaon. The Permanent Revolution

In 2009, following the Surge, Tesarus and the other members of the D.J.D. arrived over Garrus-9 to eliminate Shockwave. They discovered that Shockwave had planned for this contingency by making sure his crewmembers were also on the D.J.D's list of targets; Tarn opted to ignore Shockwave's barter and take out Shockwave, who was target number one on their list. The gambit failed and the D.J.D. were forced to retreat when backup arrived in the form of Bludgeon and the Monstructor Six. The Ties That Bind

Will it Blend?

After the end of the war in 2012, the DJD tracked down Black Shadow, who had been bribed to destroy a fleet of War Worlds. Tesarus crushed his legs and left him to get talked to death by Tarn after the other members got a turn at torturing Black Shadow. Afterwards, Tesarus and the other members were then ordered by Tarn to move on to their next target. Rules of Disengagement

That target was the cowardly K-Squad Decepticon Fulcrum who had failed to detonate himself as part of a bombing raid on the planet Clemency. Apparently being sheltered by the Scavengers aboard a P-6 Worldsweeper symbol ship, the D.J.D. gave them fifteen minutes to surrender him, but the ragtag Decepticon crew doublecrossed them and instead handed over a stasis pod containing Grimlock hopped up on circuit speeders. During the ensuing battle Tesarus killed Flywheels before he and Helex were blasted to the ground by Crankcase in a Cybernought. Following Fulcrum's apparent suicide Kaon reported that he had discovered their next target's location, so the D.J.D. left the surviving Scavengers with a warning that they were all now on The List and took off in the Peaceful Tyranny to bring Overlord to justice. Who's Afraid of the DJD?

The reason the D.J.D. detected Overlord's signal was because of the mole Brainstorm, who offered him up to the D.J.D. on condition they didn't kill anyone aboard the Lost Light. Arriving at Overlord's location, the Lost Light (in reality, one of two created by a malfunction of the ship's quantum engines), near the planet Ofsted XVII, the D.J.D. initially had every intention of keeping their word... then they saw the traitor Drift and with one thing leading to another, they set about murdering the ship's crew. Tesarus personally killed Perceptor (among others) and probably Cosmos before they reached the still-restrained Overlord; Tarn chopped his head off with a chainsaw while Tesarus smirked, and the D.J.D. left the ship. slaughterhouse The Road Not Taken The Permanent Revolution

I never broke the law! I AM THE LAW!

Seventeen months later, at Nickel's insistence, they returned to the scene of the crime to retrieve the Lost Light's quantum engines, only to find the Black Block Consortia and the Galactic Council fighting over them as well. Vos and Kaon were separated from the others as a result.

One month later, Tesarus was present when the D.J.D. caught up with Blip, and prepared to kill him for the crime of being a religion of one. When Blip peeved Tarn, he was handed over to Tesarus and Helex, who tore him to bits. Afterward, on board the Peaceful Tyranny, Tesarus was chewed out by their mechanic, Nickel for not maintaining his blades properly, before being told he had to attend a full check-up. Tarn proved less than sympathetic, putting Tesarus on report (with threat of a written warning) for complaining about "health and safety gone mad". Afterward, Tesarus was brought to Tarn's quarters for his appraisal. However, he was still bothered by leaving Vos and Kaon behind, something Tarn took exception to being told what Decepticons did and did not do. Then he reassured Tesarus he'd already given orders to recover them.

Unfortunately, they brought the news that Megatron had defected. Tesarus watched as Tarn attempted to commit suicide in response. Later, he was present when a re-galvanized Tarn led them all to the Warworld of Deathsaurus, apparently to kill the deserter. In fact, Tarn wanted to ask Deathsaurus to join with them, find Megatron and make him pay for abandoning the cause. The Permanent Revolution

Some months later, Tesarus was there when the D.J.D. caught up with Megatron on the Necrobot's planet of operations, after he and several other members of the Lost Light's crew had been lured into a trap. How Bright Their Frail Deeds After their initial attack, the D.J.D. then retreated, as part of their script. On board the Peaceful Tyranny, Tesarus was part of the strategy meeting, where he tried pointing out that the Necrobot's home had a Storm Shield, and with adequate power it could've held them off for days. In response, Tarn kept telling him to shut up. The Sun in Flight Several hours later, Tesarus was among those present as the D.J.D. prepared for their final assault. At Close of Day

When Deathsaurus's forces were routed, Megatron used Trailcutter's forcefield in an desperate attempt to save himself from his vengeful former enforcers. The attempt was futile as the D.J.D. easily pummeled their way through into the forcefield bubble, and Tesarus grinned in anticipation of punishing the archtraitor. The D.J.D.'s gleeful smiles quickly changed to horror when Megatron revealed he'd learned how to safely channel raw antimatter, and deliberately allowed them to enter so as to protect the rest of the planet from his wrath. Tesarus was seen futilely pounding on the forcefield while Megatron cursed the D.J.D. for robbing him of his chance for redemption, and then proceeded to easily massacre them. Tesarus was the penultimate member to fall; Megatron added insult to injury by stripping Scissorsaw of his title seconds before killing him. Do Not Go Gentle
