When a treacherous ally sabotages Doc Brown's plan to liberate Hill Valley, Marty and the Autobots must rescue him from the Decepticons before it's too late.
In the Hill Valley ruins, the five remaining members of the Constructicons gather around Scrapper's body and demand an explanation from an elderly Biff Tannen. Biff babbles that he has no idea who could've done this; acting-leader Hook beats Mixmaster back into line when he suggests the Autobots could be to blame and accuses Tannen of abetting human treachery—and the punishment for treachery is death! Bonecrusher promptly transforms and chases Biff through town before cornering him in an energon storage depot—as he prepares to crush the man beneath his bulldozer blade, a jolt of energy deactivates the Decepticon at the last second! Confused, Biff glimpses Lorraine and her husband George McFly hiding underneath a bench, but they're not the ones responsible for his rescue, however... that would be the Doc Brown, who's been using his jury-rigged alpha-wave ionic nullifier to snipe Decepticons from afar.
Even with this souped-up technology, Biff doesn't think much of their chances, but Doc's already hatching a new plan: using some stolen hoversleds liberated from the human work camp, they can reach the Decepticon communication relay and send a message to the Autobots. Biff still isn't convinced... but when the other three set off on their sleds, all too happy to leave him to his fate, Biff has a sudden change of heart. The group slips past Long Haul and makes it to the relay without incident; while Doc hotwires the system, he tells George to keep a lookout with the nullifier. Biff insists that George is too weak to stand guard, however, which nearly blows their cover until Doc's dog Einstein draws Long Haul's attention and leads him off on a wild goose chase. Thanks to this distraction, Doc hacks the network and beams out a distress signal to the Autobots... until Biff blasts the relay with the stolen nullifier! Convinced that capturing the fugitives will put him back in the Decepticon good books, Biff leads them to the town square for their execution, while Doc can only hope that their message reached the right set of ears...
Minutes later, the Autobot resistance—Rodimus Prime, Bumblebee, Skilz, and Gigawatt—race into town, hot on the trail of Doc's transmission. Inside Gigawatt, Marty McFly's determined to find Doc so that he can repair Gigawatt's flux capacitor and put history right, but Rodimus and Skilz remind him to keep a cool head: Doc or no Doc, Megatron's spies are everywhere and the Decepticons already outnumber them. But when the Autobots pull up in the downtown ruins, Marty impulsively races towards the town square and sees a grim sight: Starscream and the Constructicons watch as Biff prepares to execute Doc and the McFlys using his new exosuit! Ignoring Doc's pleas to remember his true loyalties, Biff readies his blaster... and although Bumblebee warns him that they must wait for the right time to strike, Marty can't bear to stand by and races off to save the day by himself—using a length of pipe as an improvised weapon, he tackles Biff at the last second! As he struggles against Tannen's mechanical grip, Starscream declares that he's tired of the theatrics and orders the Decepticons to open fire... just as Rodimus and the other members of the resistance leap from cover and launch their counterattack! Marty tells his parents to get into Gigawatt and get to safety, but Doc points out that they can't leave without the nullifier, the only way to stop the Decepticons. Unfortunately, Biff's stolen the weapon and mounted it to his suit... but as he draws a bead on Gigawatt, Einstein leaps to the rescue and knocks the gun off its hardpoint and into Marty's hands! With one quick blast, Marty short-circuits Biff's armor and sends him into a nearby dumpster.
With the tide turning against the Decepticons, Doc tells Marty to use the nullifier to help the Autobots, and Skilz offers his own assistance by trans-scanning a nearby hoversled and reconfiguring his own alternate mode into a hoverboard. Marty promptly takes to the skies atop Skilz and uses the nullifier to incapacitate the other Constructicons, until Starscream blasts him out of the sky—but before the Air Commander can capture him, Rodimus dives to his rescue just in time to punch Starscream unconscious.
It is no longer the Clock Tower which needs saving.
With the Decepticons defeated, it seems like the resistance has scored its first victory against the Decepticons... and Skilz gently reminds the notoriously independent Marty that they won this victory by working together. Rodimus reminds them that they should withdraw, and Marty wonders why, pointing out that they've already vanquished the bad guys... but he speaks too soon, as Doc draws his attention to what's happening behind them. With a terrible noise, the entire Hill Valley courthouse transforms into a colossal robot!
"Wait! Don't I know you?"
"Once met, never forgotten, even with shifting time-streams."
"What?"
"Never mind. My name is Doctor Emmett Brown and I will be your liberator today."

When Doc introduces himself to Biff, Biff wonders if he knows him; the two were contemporaries in the year 1955, but because this series diverges from the film's canon between the end of [[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}Back to the Future|{{#if:Back to the Future|Back to the Future|Back to the Future}}]] and the beginning of [[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}Back to the Future Part II|{{#if:Part II|Part II|Back to the Future Part II}}]], they would not have directly interacted at any point beyond that.
Marty's parents George and Lorraine note that, from their perspective, Marty disappeared several years ago relative to their present. We know that this "disappearance" is because he hitched a ride aboard Gigawatt to the year 2015 from the alternate 1985, but you might question this plot point if you watched the films: in Part II, for instance, Doc, Marty, and Jennifer travelled to the year 2015 and encountered Marty's future self, with no mention of an anomalous disappearance in 1985. On the other hand, Doc speculated in [[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}Back to the Future Part III|{{#if:Part III|Part III|Back to the Future Part III}}]] that time travel into the future takes you to the most likely timeline based on your present choices—perhaps some version of Marty died offscreen and his parents never found out?
The Decepticons reward Biff by giving him an exosuit based on the ones Spike and Daniel Witwicky donned in The Transformers: The Movie; this version is nearly identical to those, but also includes an underslung forearm blaster.
Rodimus throws down with Starscream as he paraphrases the famous "one shall stand, one shall fall" line from The Movie, although the new Autobot leader puts his own, less poetic spin on this old chestnut.
As Long Haul searches the ruins for any sign of the humans, he rummages through a pile of debris that includes a billboard with a barely-visible image of Goldie Wilson, Hill Valley's mayor in the primary 1985 timeline.
As he prepares to execute Doc and the McFlys, Biff boasts that he "knows which side his pancake's buttered", referencing a running gag from the films regarding Biff's tendency to mangle metaphors.
By scanning the future technology in the Decepticon hoversled, Skilz transforms himself into a hoverboard similar to the one that Marty used throughout Back to the Future Part II and the end of Part III.
After Biff is defeated, he and the exo-suit wind up falling into a futuristic garbage receptacle, continuing the Tannen family's propensity for humiliating waste-related defeats.
Marty compares shooting the Constructicons to [[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}Wild Gunman|{{#if:||Wild Gunman}}]], a video game he briefly played in Back to the Future Part II.
A coloring gaffe on page twelve gives Bumblebee two working eyes; although he's drawn with the mechanical eyepatch he sported in the previous issue, colorist Candice Han appears to have misinterpreted the line art.
A similar error occurs on page seventeen—the colorist seems to have misconstrued the circular indent on Scavenger's forehead as an eye, then colored his actual visor to blend in with the rest of his face. The end result is the otherwise inexplicable visual of Scavenger sporting a single-optic, Shockwave-type head.
On page nineteen, Bumblebee's missing the scratches on his left arm he sported in the previous issue.
