Transformers: Convobat Amazon Showdown
Transformers: Convobat Amazon Showdown (トランスフォーマー コンボバットアマゾンの対決 Toransufōmā Konbobatto Amazon no Taiketsu) is a film about the origins of the fictional character(?) Convobat, produced and directed by Nightscream of the Legends World. It stars:
- Cheetor as Straxus
- Nightscream as Convobat
- Megatron as Megalligator
- Optimus Primal as Ape X Arms
- Silverbolt as Wrecker Hook
Fiction
[edit]Legends World
[edit]Nightscream began producing Convobat Amazon Showdown as a side job, casting many of his coworkers from the Axalon Trading Company and borrowing a transtector from Mindwipe to play Convobat's body. The shooting was problematic: most of the actors refused to be serious and kept ad-libbing jokes rather than delivering their lines properly, Optimus Primal and Megatron got stuck in each other during a combination scene, and the living transtector protested to being painted and went on a rampage until Primal and Megatron subdued it.
The movie was eventually completed and aired in theaters, where Hardhead and Highbrow watched it and pondered if it, like every other piece of Transformers media in the Legends World, depicted actual events taking place in another universe. LG-EX Convobat
Notes
[edit]- The constant ad-libbing from the actors in the comic is, of course, a reference to the (in)famously comedic and ad-lib heavy Japanese dub of Beast Wars: Super Lifeform Transformers—though unlike Nightscream, who's frustrated by the cast going off-script, dub director Yoshikazu Iwanami is well-known for encouraging improvisation.
- Hardhead and Highbrow's theory is correct, as the film depicts the events of the Cybertron Convobat prequel comic.
- The title Amazon Showdown comes from the name of a Convobat/Megalligator two-pack from the Japanese Beast Wars toyline.
