Transformers: The Last Knight (Music From the Motion Picture) is an album featuring the original instrumental music composed by Steve Jablonsky for the live-action sequel Transformers: The Last Knight. The album covers nearly one hundred and thirty minutes of the film's score. Like the previous score, La-La Land Records released the uncompressed score album in CD format limited to 3,000 units. Jablonsky stated that much of the music he composed was heavily edited for the film, and he wanted it released in its original state - hence why the score contains over thirty tracks, amounting to over two hours of music.

On the score, Jablonsky said, "I met with Michael before he started shooting 'Transformers: The Last Knight.' He showed me some amazing concept art and explained how the story connects the history of Transformers all the way back to the times of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. I loved the idea because it gave me the opportunity to explore new musical ideas. The storyline allowed me to write melodies that are a bit more 'classical' than I've written for the other Transformers films, which was a lot of fun for me. Another important aspect of the story revolves around massive skyscraper-sized 'horns from hell' that start emerging from the Earth. They look like gigantic animal horns, but no one knows what they are or why they have appeared. I wanted to create an unsettling sense of mystery and tension with the music."

The tracks "Merlin's Staff", "Quintessa", "Stay and Fight", "Izzy", "Purity of Heart", "Seglass Ni Tonday", "Vivian" and "Sir Edmund Burton" are suites, and are not played in their entirety in the film; some of these tracks aren't even played at all. Jablonsky reused the track "Have Faith Prime" from Age of Extinction, although this track isn't included in the score.

Notes

[edit]
La-La Land's alternate cover art used for their CD release.
  • Viviane's name is spelled as "Vivian" in the score.
  • The soundtrack noticeably features several musical callbacks to the scores of the previous films, in contrast to previous scores which reused only a select few (particularly its predecessor). "No Sacrifice, No Victory" appears in and gets remixed for "Calling All Autobots"; "Your Voice" contains "There Is No Plan", "We All Work for the Decepticons", and Megatron's unnamed leitmotif from Dark of the Moon; excerpts of "Hong Kong Chase" from Age of Extinction are also spliced throughout "Vivian Follows Merlin".
