Chapter 3: Bludgeon's Revenge

In the Aegean Sea, Sea Spray, Breacher, and Sideswipe are searching for the source of a transmission detected when Ravage infiltrated the NEST base in Bloemfontein. Skystalker is there to greet them.

Inside the cloaked Decepticon base on the island of Delos, Starscream is undergoing the Unite process when Lockdown enters the chamber. Lockdown informs Starscream of the Autobot intrustion, which Starscream takes in stride.

Outside, Bludgeon observes the battle, seeking to use the unexpected Autobot presence to his advantage. Skystalker is finally shot down by a combination of fire from Breacher and Sea Spray. While Breacher celebrates their victory, he is struck down by Lockdown, but Sideswipe parachutes to the rescue, handling a prowling Ravage. In the distraction, Bludgeon breaks into the Decepticon base, only to be shot down by a Unite-powered Starscream for all his trouble. Starscream swears to conquer Earth and flies away. The Autobots are only left with questions and incapacitated Decepticons.

Chapter 4: On the Road of Destruction

Optimus Prime meets with the Autobots on Delos, where Sideswipe explains that Starscream is likely pulling a power play with stolen Unite technology. Optimus Prime cooly notes that Starscream didn't get the data for one important component of Unite: the neural interface protocols. Starscream will eventually lose his mind. True to Prime's prediction, Starscream rashly attacks Gwangju Air Base in Korea. Megatron is informed of Starscream's rampage by Soundwave. Furious that Starscream would pull off such an assault without his permission, Megatron orders Soundwave to punish Starscream. Soundwave complies, sending Brimstone and Thundercracker after the rogue Decepticon.

The two are of little consequence to Starscream, who easily shoots down Thundercracker and punches through Brimstone's torso. The Autobots soon arrive, but are not much better at bringing down the powerful Decepticon. They are eventually aided by an unexpected source—an angry Megatron!

Notes

  • This comic is in two parts, clearly originally intended to come split between two different releases. According to author Simon Furman, he penned five mini-comics for inclusion with Takara products; these are obviously the third and fourth; the previous two included with the Masterpiece edition of Starscream. The fifth chapter found a home in Transformers Generations 2011 Volume 1, which also reprinted the preceding four chapters. The reshuffling of the material is evidently due to the cancellation of the Unite for the Universe Jet Power Optimus Prime and Megatron figures, who would presumably have come with a comic each. The cancellation of Prime, in particular, makes the first of these comics a touch on the amusing side, since it's entirely based around promoting an unreleased figure.

Errors

  • The title for "Bludgeon's Revenge" on the cover is rendered as ブラジオンの復習 (Bludgeon no Fukushū), which actually means "Bludgeon's Revision". Too bad nobody revised that, eh? The title in the story itself, ブラジオンの復讐 (Bludgeon no Fukushū), actually means "Bludgeon's Revenge".
  • Elita-One is depicted in Chromia's body.
