Outside linking

Abates, how do I tell if an image or redirect has an outside/off-site link pointing to it? I want to delete [[:Image:LiveActionJazz-Skywarp01.jpg|this]], but it's pretty old, so I don't know if there might be any links to it. I used to use Yahoo siteexplorer to find links to pages, but Yahoo shut it down now because they're using Bing's database. Now I generally just google the url or just the article/image name to try and find links to it, which isn't ideal. Apparently you did not read your talk page. There are multiple issues with the images you have been uploading and you need to read this page here which explains that images need to have non-generic names - you uploaded an image called "jolt.jpg", but there are six different characters named Jolt. You must also provide a proper description and copyright templates for each image. Uploading them with no description is not helpful - you uploaded this picture of Thundercracker without saying which issue it was from or who drew it. --abates 17:31, 12 March 2012 (EDT)

CCs spell them as "Mr. Bufkin" and "Mrs. Prewett". Other townspeople names from the episode are spelled "Mr. Perkins", "Milo", "Mrs. Niederlander", and "Mr. Pettypaws" (her cat). And, the spelling for device Cody got in the Flobsters episode is "Comtab" (or maybe "ComTab"? Merely saying

How come the IDW sections are usually the least updated? Everything else is updated occasionally like when Transformers Prime releases a new episode, everything is updated instantly the next day but when a new IDW comic comes out, nobody updates everything even within a week? Yeah, the Wiki's really more about the quality of information than how quickly it's updated. And considering how arc-y the writing of the ongoings is, often it's better to wait until after an arc is over before adding a summary because what was once believed may not have been as it seems. You are still bother-able for screenshots? Because there's a few requests lying around.

Netherlands - I'd like a screenshot of, at about 9 minutes in and right after Trypticon attacks the train, the big scnerey shot when the Autobots come rolling in. If it won't do in your opinion, a windmill shot from early on will also suffice.
The Slingshot (weapon) page asks for a screenshot of Starscream from MTMTE2
The Great Dome page asks for a screenshot from the first The Headmasters episode.
The Incredibly tall rocket has an interior image request open.

Old images

This wiki doesn't have a way to deal with unneeded images that are uploaded over, right? WOuld it be an idea to create a template and deletion subcategory for dealing with old images only? Geewunling 10:20, 27 September 2012 (EDT)

Old revisions of images can be deleted by an admin, but is it needed that often that it needs a template? I don't think it's even necessary unless the old image is infringing in some way (I believe the images stay on the server in case they need to be undeleted so you don't save disk space, but I'm not 100% sure on that) --abates 16:46, 27 September 2012 (EDT)

Bug in search function

I'm not sure if you're the right guy to contact about this, but here's the issue:

When you arrive at a new page that doesn't exist (like mistyping an article title), and then choose to search for that term in other pages, the macro converts all spaces to underscores. It then searches for that underscored block as one word, severely limiting the possibility that it would find anything.

For example, I typed in "http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Transformers Prime (toyline)", accidentally omitting the colon. I got no result, clicked "Search for this" since I wasn't sure what I had typoed, and it searched for "Transformers_Prime_(toyline)", recieving zero results.

This isn't a critical bug, per se, since one could always just retype their search string in the sidebar and get it to act normally, but as it is now there's really no point to the search option on the "couldn't find article" page, since this cripples its functionality. It should be fixable by getting the searcher to interpret spaces and underscores as either spaces or underscores (assuming there are any article titles with underscores in them), although I can't say I know exactly where the fix would need to be implemented. Hi there! Apologies if I'm not doing this 'talk' thing correctly. I wanted to note that while the image you uploaded wasn't a picture of a TV screen, it is of a lower resolution. Until a decent screen cap can be found, perhaps the High resolution image should be used. The users of Tumblr prefer it for the clarity and 'Shock' factor. -- Apple
