Kre-O Micro Changers wave 1

[edit]

Should these be counted as 2012 or 2013 product? I know it says 2012 on the baggies, but I'm not sure if they were spotted before New Years... --Monzo 03:14, 14 February 2013 (EST)

The post on TFormers with the bag codes was made late December. I'm not sure how widespread they were at the time though. --abates 03:52, 14 February 2013 (EST)

Bot Shot bios

[edit]

Not sure if you've seen these, abates, but the Bot Shots online checklist gives bios to a bunch of characters. (Dirt Boss isn't there as yet, sadly.)

http://www.bot-shots.com/check_list.php

Just a heads-up that it will try to auto-print when you open the page, so you'll have to cancel out of that. --Monzo 03:58, 15 February 2013 (EST)

Ahh, thanks! I always have a hard time finding that page with their navigation. I see they've added some more bios since I last looked at it too! --abates 04:07, 15 February 2013 (EST)

Dude in A Team Effort.

[edit]

Hey, do you know the name of the guy that was mentioned by Take-Off in A Team Effort. He wanted to trans-scan something, I believe. If you do, could you get back to me? {{Escargon 18:52, 23 February 2013 (EST)}}

Roadstorm. --abates 19:14, 23 February 2013 (EST)
Thanks. [[Escargon 19:21, 23 February 2013 (EST)]]

Tales of the Beast Hunters

[edit]

As you have mentioned that the stories are freely available, may I perhaps ask where you are getting the chapters for toys that haven't been released yet? Inkblot 04:37, 25 February 2013 (EST)

Hmm, have I erred? I think Shockwave is the only one who isn't out yet, but someone on TFW2005 linked to a copy of his instructions (with Tales included) on Hasbro's site. --abates 04:55, 25 February 2013 (EST)

Blaster/toys

[edit]

Whoops. Thought the rule was that /toys always got split before /Generation 1 cartoon continuity, and I knew Blaster had one of those... - SanityOrMadness 21:08, 7 March 2013 (EST)

I think his toy section may have been too small to bother splitting. Oh well! :) --abates 21:16, 7 March 2013 (EST)

Template:L

[edit]

I was hoping you could restore my Template:L; even if it can't be used for standardized codes due to the sheer number of parsers used on this wiki, it still shortens the code used significantly, and can be implemented on a page easily using regex. Granted conversions would need to be checked before saving, but I've found on the other wikis that we use it on that it has shown to be pretty popular.KrytenKoro 21:20, 20 March 2013 (EDT)

I'm not sure why shortening the code is a big deal when you're reducing the number of bytes for a link by a dozen or so at most, and instead introducing the additional overhead of a template lookup and execution. I'm sorry, it kinda seems like overkill to me when we already have a perfectly good way to make links to other articles. --abates 22:23, 20 March 2013 (EDT)
Okay. Sorry for troubling you, then.KrytenKoro 22:32, 20 March 2013 (EDT)
That doesn't have to be the last word! This is a wiki, after all, so you're welcome to raise more discussion on it at the Community Portal. A template like that which has the potential to be extensively used Wikiwide kinda needs more discussion than it has already gotten though. :) --abates 01:04, 21 March 2013 (EDT)

Computer Problem

[edit]

The reason why my images are blurry is because my computer seems to have a problem with it. Apparently, my computer doesn't like my images being clear, so they just become blurry. I know, I noticed it too. Movie09 00:25, 29 March 2013 (EDT)

Well, I'm not sure what to suggest other than you could ask someone else to take the pictures for you. The blurry pics aren't very good for viewing on the wiki. --abates 01:35, 29 March 2013 (EDT)

Transformers Go! nav box

[edit]

Thank you! Mimi 01:12, 27 April 2013 (EDT)

No problem! --abates 01:58, 27 April 2013 (EDT)

Just a suggestion about spam

[edit]

Its kind of a stupid and childish suggestion, but since we are tfwiki why dont we refer to spam as something else like: beryllium bologna or sezium salami (there can be an argument about that later) but its just a suggestion to make us a little bit more different from other wikis. It would make a good template too. -Shado Prime 12:45, 28 May 2013 (EDT)

Cute, but I think it might confuse people and be harder to spell. :) --abates 16:51, 28 May 2013 (EDT)
Cute? Not the approach i was going for...anyway, i understand --Shado Prime 18:44, 29 May 2013 (EDT)

Merging histories

[edit]

A big chunk of Ratbat (G1)'s history is at Ratbat, too. - SanityOrMadness 09:03, 11 June 2013 (EDT)

Thanks! --abates 18:23, 11 June 2013 (EDT)

I think it's time to give HHal another time out.

[edit]

Could you or any of the adimins give HHal another time out? He's still adding captions and useless information to pages. Escargon 00:32, 27 June 2013 (EDT)

Hmmm, I went back through his recent contributions and didn't see any caption additions (other than where he was making a page in the first place, in which case fair enough, I think). --abates 01:54, 27 June 2013 (EDT)
HHal moved things that didn't need to be moved and/or add useless "information". Granted, I won't say no to some of the new articles created, but there wasn't much effort put into them and some of the others had to reformat the articles properly. Plus, we gave three temp bans already of "cut it out". --Lonegamer78 01:58, 27 June 2013 (EDT)

RE: Image Formats

[edit]

I can't really help it. All the good pictures I find are .png files and my computer won't allow to save them as .jpgs. --Dragonzzilla 23:14, 5 July 2013 (EDT)

Which OS are you using? I mean, I have Windows XP, and I can load a PNG up into Paint, and it will let me save it as a JPG. --abates 23:17, 5 July 2013 (EDT)
Wait, I think I got it. --Dragonzzilla 23:31, 5 July 2013 (EDT)
Groovy! :) --abates 23:36, 5 July 2013 (EDT)

Biblical References

[edit]

Throughout the transformers universe i've noticed many references to the bible such as but not limited to: the Ark, the covenant of primus, the thirteen. So i was wondering if i could make a page listing and explaining these references. The reason i ask you is because i know religous topics can be iffy on wikis. By the way you are the top admin, right? --Shado Prime 20:51, 14 July 2013 (EDT)

Not abates, but 1: We don't make pages like that, 2: It's usually has to be shown in TF somehow, 3: No, that's ItsWalky. Escargon 21:02, 14 July 2013 (EDT)

K but no offense but, for the 2nd time I WASNT TALKING TO YOU, Escargon, if i wanted to talk to YOU i would have gone to YOUR page. --Shado Prime 21:07, 14 July 2013 (EDT)

You ask questions in a public forum, and you should expect public answers. Chill. --M Sipher 21:54, 14 July 2013 (EDT)
That sounds like a page which is a little too essay-ish for us though - we do explain references like that on the relevant pages though (Ark (G1) has a note explaining how it's a reference to Noah's ark. A whole page might be a bit much. --abates 22:29, 14 July 2013 (EDT)
I was thinking more of a listing format than an essay, but i see the logic in your response, thanks anyway. --Shado Prime 21:41, 16 July 2013 (EDT)

Tales

[edit]

Thanks for catching those typos for me.KrytenKoro 17:48, 30 July 2013 (EDT)

No problem :) --abates 18:10, 30 July 2013 (EDT)

Thanks

[edit]

Thank you for partly helping me with the link fixes and moving Annihilation! Any chance you could also move Deadlock (episode) and Chip (Prime) to disambiguation-less pages? Mimi 04:00, 4 August 2013 (EDT)

Sorted! --abates 04:09, 4 August 2013 (EDT)
Whoo, thanks! Mimi 04:17, 4 August 2013 (EDT)

Re:

[edit]

Oh, I never got any stats from Wikia; the only reason I have that on my userpage is because this wiki, not the Wikia one, is the first of the results on Google when you search something transformers-related, while Wikia's is a few links down. But that's good to know anyway. :P --Jeyo 03:44, 23 August 2013 (EDT)

Quick query:

[edit]

Hey, i'm a new user and i'm still learning the ropes, hoping you can help me out a bit :p

I recently added a brief entry to the notes section of the Sounwave (WFC) page, stating that despite not appearing in the film, he is technically present to witness the events(due to events in the previous story arc that trapped him in a pocket dimension, still in this reality, but unable to interact with it, just in case you hadn't seen it). The entry was removed due to being 'unnecessary', and i'm questioning this decision, for a few reasons; firstly, it seems to me that many of the 'notes' are not necessary, just trivialities. Second, my entry was not inaccurate or misleading, which brings to my final point; if I considered it to be of interest, and it presented no misinformation, who has the right to remove it? Surely interest is subjective, and so the entry's inclusion at least deserved some discussion if it's relevance was in question? If a general consensus agreed on it's deletion, fine, but I dislike the idea of a single person's idea of what is interesting outweighing another's.

So my question here is, what do you think? Can I appeal this in any way?

Sorry for the length of this, and thanks in advance. --Rhysman

Hey! We try to avoid speculation like that, because for instance, if the next Transformers series follows on from Prime and reveals that Soundwave was off investigating the Harbinger for technology so he could escape the Shadowzone, then someone has to remember the note is there and remove it. Or if it's confirmed that Soundwave was on the Nemesis watching everyone, then the note still has to be removed because the information is then made part of his fiction section what he's doing. There are a bunch of notes likes this scattered around the wiki that have been superseded, but either no one's noticed them or no one's updated them. I hope that explains better why we try to avoid that kind of note. --abates 00:57, 14 October 2013 (EDT)
Ah, that makes sense. Nice one man.
Just out of interest, what would be the case if the next series wasn't a continuation of Prime? If there was no chance of needing to edit it in the future, would it be acceptable? I know it'd still be speculative, but many notes on this wiki seem to be. --Rhysman
Well, we don't know what Hasbro and its licencees have planned, so it's best to play it on the safe side. Just because there are other notes on the wiki which are speculation isn't good justification to add more, because many of those will have the same problem I mentioned above, and it's likely no one's noticed them yet. --abates 16:23, 14 October 2013 (EDT)

Ah I see, see I was under the impression that the other speculative notes were acceptable, which is where my confusion came from. Thanks again.

Transformers Prime.....Chromia Page..

[edit]

Hey Dude, Why did u deleted the chromia page? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Hyruk‎ (talkcontribs){{#if:| {{{2}}}|}}.

Because all it said was "Chromia is a character from Transformers Prime Universe". That's not really going to help anyone who wants to learn about Chromia since it doesn't give them any information they can't work out from the article name. Please read our help on new pages and it should give you a good idea about the sort of information we need for even a bare minimum article. --abates 20:31, 15 October 2013 (EDT)

God Neptune

[edit]

Hey, Abates, the latest club mag has a bio for God Neptune, and it states that when Nautilator and Tentikil died, Piranacon died with them, and while they replaced those two with Scylla, Piranacon is not the same guy as God Neptune. I know we usually don't wait until a month later, but since God Neptune's already appered, I thought maybe we should move God Neptune's BWSG fiction section over to God Neptune's page. Escargon (talk) 18:14, 14 December 2013 (EST)

There's another way we could approach this, but I don't know which is the correct one. If God Neptune is distinct from Piranacon, but he's not made up from the Space Pirate Seacons like BWII God Neptune, then maybe he should have his own article. I think it needs more discussion first. (disclaimer: I haven't got the issue yet) --abates (talk) 19:04, 14 December 2013 (EST)
Well, Walky has already made the disabig for God Neptune (BWSG), so I guess we'll just move the stuff over when the article gets created. Escargon (talk) 16:50, 16 December 2013 (EST)

Isolde Holden

[edit]

Sorry. i thought redirecting Isolde Holden to Transformers: Hardwired was better than leaving the red link, and it was a way to put her on the [Category: Journalists] page where i failed to find her. i can't find my copy of Hardwired and don't even own the rest of the trilogy; all i think i remember about her is that she was a pro-Autobot reporter who [almost?] died in an Autobot/Decepticon skirmish while saying "I do not blame the Autobots." Not enough to warrant making a page (especially given my uncertainty of that information)... but you think what i did is worse than nothing, and worth undoing?

i'm honestly not trying to make trouble, but i'm clearly having trouble learning how to be helpful here.

But on another subject, thanks for pointing out that "move" button to me.

--Rhymus (talk) 06:33, 30 December 2013 (EST)

Well, consider it from the point of view of someone reading the Hardwired page. They see that Isolde Holden's link is blue and click on it to read about the character, and instead it takes them straight back to the page they're already on, which is confusing and doesn't tell them anything about the character. Equally, if at some point in the future someone is filling in the missing articles on the page, they may see that Isolde's link is blue and assume she already has a page. Sometimes a red link is better than a redirect. --abates (talk) 15:31, 30 December 2013 (EST)
