• Planet Zi (惑星Zi (ズィー) Wakusei Zī) is the setting of the Zoids anime. The association of the Starriors characters with it is likely a reference to Starriors being a spinoff of Zoids in toy terms, though the two Tomy lines are unconnected in story or setting.
• Transformers: Legacy toyline staff Ben MacCrae and Mark Maher lampshaded the heavy Zoids influence that went into the beast mode of Legacy: United Thundertron by offering that the pirate had crash-landed on the Zoid homeworld of Planet Zi and scanned one of the franchise's trademark ligers.<ref>Transformers panel with Ben MacCrae, Mark Maher, Evan Brooks, Takio Ejima and Thew Adams at Hasbro Pulse Con 2023.</ref>
