Command Units are a type of Decepticlone from the Armada portion of the Unicron Trilogy continuity family.
Middle management from hell.

Command Units are among the most intelligent of the AI-driven Decepticlones. They are usually put in command of squads of Light Units and Medium Units to coordinate their attacks. As such, a Command Unit should be an Autobot's primary target. However, this is easier said than done, as Command Units are far from easy prey, as they possess great situational awareness and can order a variety of tactics, yet any of said tactics can simply be a ploy to distract an Autobot from a larger scheme. Command Units are not to be underestimated.

All Command Units are outfitted with potent weaponry, the most obvious of which is the large broadsword attached to their left forearm that is capable of cleaving through Autobots with ease. This weapon in conjunction with their impressive jumping skills allows them to deliver powerful lunge attacks. The Command Units also boast impressive speed when in close quarters, making them difficult to effectively counterattack. Command Units will utilise their shoulder-mounted missile launcher for ranged combat, often firing off a single shot upon sighting a distant target in order to deal some quick damage and alert any nearby Decepticlones before following up with a whole volley of missiles. Finally, Command Units can summon reinforcements through the use of signal flares.

Unusually for drones, Command Units seem somewhat malicious in their approach to destroying Autobots: they do not always attack on sight, preferring instead to sneak up behind a target and deal surprise attacks. They have also been known to stalk targets long distances before ever attacking. Command Units can be especially difficult to deal with when in groups of two or more as they will co-ordinate attacks with one another in order to prevent an Autobot from retaliating.

Some Command Units have stealth technology installed, making them partially invisible and easy to overlook. This field can be disrupted by area-wide attacks or after sustaining significant damage and a Command Unit will always drop their stealth field—for whatever reason—after engaging an Autobot in close combat.
