Toys

[edit]

The Transformers

[edit]
Sparkstalker
Sold carded for $3 each (on average), the Firecons are extremely simple toys. Like their Autobot counterparts, the toys feature a friction-motor that causes "cold" sparks to shoot from a section of the toy's alternate mode (the mouth, in the case of the Firecons) as well as propelling the toy forward on smooth surfaces.
This set of molds was used to make the Decepticon Sparkdash drones from Super-God Masterforce.

Generation 2

[edit]
Flamefeather
Released as European market exclusives, the Generation 2 Firecons, now named "Sparkabots", were redecoed in brightly-colored, transparent plastic. They also had redrawn card artwork which featured the characters in exactly the same pose as on their original toy packaging, but in a much simpler style. The characters' functions were also changed for this release: Sparkstalker was now a saboteur and Flamefeather was now a raid-planner. Each toy also had a new motto but lacked tech specs and profile.

Timelines

[edit]
Cindersaur
A redeco of Beast Wars 10th Anniversary Megatron, this convention exclusive version of Cindersaur was intended to complete the Firecon set from Generation 2, and accordingly has purple and green robot parts and a third translucent color.

Bot Shots

[edit]
  • Cindersaur / Optimus Prime / Jazz (Multi-pack, 2013)
  • Series: 2
  • Number: BP007
    • Fist strength: 384
    • Blaster strength: 853
    • Sword strength: 383
Part of the second wave of Bot Shots Series 2 three-packs, Jump Shot Cindersaur is modeled on Prime Skystalker. He transforms into a beaky-looking reptile thing on wheels, with a predominantly purple and yellow color scheme. An impact to the front of his beast mode causes him to spring up and autotransform into a robot armed with a pistol. He has a "spinner" in his chest that shows his three attack types and power levels.
He comes in a three pack with Jump Shot Optimus Prime and Super Bot Jazz. This mold was redecoed twice into Bots Shots Skystalker, and was going to be redecoed into into Buzzclaw and Rom the Space Knight, but those releases were canceled.
The second wave of Series 2 three-packs didn't reach mass retail in the United States, only showing up in discount stores like Ross.

Power of the Primes

[edit]
  • Cindersaur (Legends Class, 2018)
  • Takara ID number: PP-39
Part of the third wave of Power of the Primes Legends Class toys, Cindersaur is a retool of Dinobot Slash, and can transform into a rough, robotic approximation of a Velociraptor. The toy's beast mode jaw can open and close, and a Prime Master can fit inside the compartment on the beast mode back once it is opened. In both modes, Cindersaur is fairly small for a Legends Class figure.
Some versions of the toy's pack-in card have the prefix "Dinobot" attached to Cindersaur's name, presumably a leftover from Slash. Additionally, the card for "Alpha Trion Cindersaur" refers to the character with the pronoun "her", but the card for "Micronus Cindersaur" uses the pronoun "his."
