| This article is about the Generation 1 Autobot. For the Guardian from GoBots, see Rest-Q (GoBots). |
- Rest-Q is an Autobot from the Wings Universe portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Rest-Q is the field medic for the Elite Guard's Recon Team and is often called upon to patch up other Guardsmen as well. Effective enough at his job, Rest-Q's bedside manner needs a little work. Of course, the fact that he can't communicate with his patients does affect his patience. Earlier in his career, Rest-Q suffered a blow to the head that permanently scrambled his speech center with a condition known as Foreign Vocalizer Syndrome. He can still speak perfectly clearly and in complete, grammatically correct sentences...just in some of the most obscure languages in the universe. Rest-Q is forced to rely on Crosscut, his Recon teammate and former diplomatic ambassador, to translate everything he says.[1]

- Physically, Rest-Q is based on a prototype version of the Generation 1 Mini Vehicle Hubcap seen in the Toy Fair 1986 catalogue. He is named after the Tonka GoBots character of the same name, a fellow medic who shares a vaguely similar white body/red face color scheme.
- Fun Publications editor Pete Sinclair initially nicknamed this character Cupcake before his name was finalized. In-fiction, Rest-Q got this nickname from his teammates after he tried to say his name once and it came out in Antillan.
