While most Decepticons enjoy trashing Autobots, Cutthroat revels in it. He'll tear a mech to pieces with his bare claws in his bloodthirsty zeal, showing not one iota of mercy. His fighting is so barbaric that it even disturbs other Decepticons, especially considering how much energy he wastes in his frenzies. Still, none of his peers are brave enough to mention anything to Cutthroat for fear that he'll turn his insatiable bloodlust on them.

Cutthroat can combine with the other Terrorcons to form Abominus, although he'd rather not because he thinks Abominus is too "tame" for his taste.

Next, the Terrorcons were seen under the domination of the Quintessons. They attacked the Technobots and free trader Dirk Manus on the outskirts of Saturn as Abominus. Cutthroat lamented the end of the hunt, but Hun-Gurrr reminded him of the timing mechanism their masters had built into the group in order to control Abominus. Back at the Quintesson base, Cutthroat and Blot engaged in some play-fighting while waiting for their next set of orders. Battling the Autobots on a lifeless rock of a planetoid, Cutthroat and the Terrorcons were back to working with Galvatron. They were fighting alongside Predaking as Abominus when a mysterious signal touched their Primitive circuitry. Reverting to animal mode, the Terrorcons joined Autobot and Decepticon Primitives alike in boarding Trypticon and almost hypnotically following the signal to the center of the galaxy. The Primitives were united in purpose, however, not disposition. When Headstrong of the Predacons picked a fight with Grimlock and the Dinobots, a ruckus broke out inside Trypticon, especially when Hun-Gurrr ordered the wild Terrorcons to "fight everybody!" Trypticon shook himself up a bit to quiet down the Transformers inside, and his bouncing around knocked them all into silence, including Cutthroat who was flying in mid-air at the time. Once they reached their destination, the Primitives were confronted by the energy-draining Tornedron. The shape-changing energy creature defeated the Terrorcons in the form of a many-headed hydra. Only a last minute save by Grimlock kept the universe from being drained completely dry of all life. Call of the Primitives

They switched tactics and split into their individual modes to spray Computron with "Cohesive Control Liquid", forcing him onto the Decepticon side. The Technobots were eventually freed when Spike Witwicky blasted them with a counter-spray. Cutthroat was sent by the Quintessons to help the humans wage their battle against the Selectors, Autobots, and Decepticons. Volcanicus comic 2 The battle-hungry Terrorcon eagerly attacked Volcanicus and Computron, gnawing on the Autobot combiners with his beak. Cutthroat later created a brood of evil Pteraxadons using his stolen Energon Matrix and Angolmois Energy. He then kidnapped a barricade of Doublecrossers protecting the Autobot Inferno, and the newborn Pteraxadons proceeded to eat them alive! Cutthroat expressed twisted joy at watching his "juniors" grow bigger and stronger, having just created aerial sentries for the Terrorcons.

Cutthroat later participated in a grudge match with his Terrorcon cohort Blot, and led the Pteraxadons when Hun-Gurrr ordered his troops to counter-strike against their former leader. Cutthroat was perplexed when Megatron siphoned away his Angolmois Energy, but the Terrorcons got their revenge when Hun-Gurrr received the Terrorbreaster from the Quintessons, allowing the five Decepticon traitors to merge into Abominus. However, Megatron powered up into Megatron Omega from the Angolmois Energy and attacked the Terrorcon combiner. Although Megatron was seemingly killed when Abominus blasted a hole in his chest, Abominus comic 1 Megatron Omega instantaneously regenerated from Abominus's gunfire. Abominus comic 2

Cutthroat was present as part of Abominus during his attack on Neo Scramble City, and carried over to Abomenaticus's configuration when Abominus stole Bruticus and Menasor's limbs. Following Abominus's temporary alliance with Volcanicus, Abominus comic 2 the Terrorcons separated and arrived on the Blue Planet with the Abomenaticus components. Cutthroat was later present among the cross-team Decepticons on the planet's surface as Red Megatron and Black Megatron attacked. He then combined with Turtler to form Scramble 7, who effortlessly disposed of the two rogue Megatrons. Generations Selects Special Comic Finale

Cutthroat is a bloodthirsty monster whose joy in violence stands out even among the Terrorcons.
Not content with simply defeating his enemies, Cutthroat must obliterate them, rending his foes from circuit to gyro in a frenzy of hatred and spite. Many Decepticons think he goes too far and must have a crossed wire or two, but they also realize that telling him so would only turn his murderous attention toward them.
Cutthroat delights in swooping down on his foes from above and has been known to ambush his prey before tearing into them.

Notes
Notes
*Cutthroat had the working name of Slish-Slash.
*Cutthroat's nominal limb placement as the right leg of Abominus is frequently switched around with Sinnertwin as the left leg, due to the package art showing the latter configuration. The original cartoon popularized this different placement, while the mobile game Transformers: Earth Wars depicts the original configuration from the toy instructions. Unusually, Transformers: More than Meets the Eye #7 depicts Cutthroat as Abominus' right arm instead.
*By the early 2010s, Hasbro lost the trademark "Cutthroat" (or perhaps were more conservative with gore-themed toy names), resulting in Cutthroat's Transformers: Prime namesake having to be called "Windrazor". Later in the decade, Hasbro got the trademark back, but now as "Terrorcon Cutthroat" for stronger protection.
*While Cutthroat appeared redesigned based on Prime Windrazor in IDW's Windblade vol. 1, he did not appear as such alongside his also-redesigned teammates in the Transformers Legends mobile game event "Unleash the Beasts".

This article is about the evil Decepticon Terrorcon. For his heroic mirrorverse counterpart, see Cutthroat (SG).
Cutthroat is a Decepticon Terrorcon from the Generation 1 continuity family.
Frequent shopper at Carrion "R" Us

While most Decepticons enjoy trashing Autobots, Cutthroat revels in it. He'll tear a mech to pieces with his bare claws in his bloodthirsty zeal, showing not one iota of mercy. His fighting is so barbaric that it even disturbs other Decepticons, especially considering how much energy he wastes in his frenzies. Still, none of his peers are brave enough to mention anything to Cutthroat for fear that he'll turn his insatiable bloodlust on them. As the only airborne member of the Terrorcons, Cutthroat possesses high agility to bolster his deadly fighting prowess.

Cutthroat can combine with the other Terrorcons to form Abominus, although he'd rather not because he thinks Abominus is too "tame" for his taste.[1]

Digital Doom on the THIGHway to Destruction, huh? Eh? Yeah? No? Anyone? Bueller?

Cutthroat and the Terrorcons were first seen on a mission with Galvatron, harvesting anti-electrons from Unicron's head to use against the Autobots. The Autobots learned of the plot and came to Unicron to stop the Decepticons, but the debilitating effect of the anti-electron blast and the sheer size and might of the Terrorcons left them in danger of being overrun. Cutthroat managed to disarm Kup and several other Autobots with his swooping attacks. The Terrorcons were ultimately overwhelmed by a newly constructed Autobot combiner named Computron, tough enough to challenge them even in their united Abominus form. Grimlock's New Brain

No mercy shall be shown to Hun-Gurrr's foot for stealing his screen time!

Next, the Terrorcons were seen under the domination of the Quintessons. They attacked the Technobots and free trader Dirk Manus on the outskirts of Saturn as Abominus. While moving in for the kill, however, they broke apart back into their individual forms. After the Technobots returned and the two teamed united as Abominus and Computron again, the Terrorcons were defeated when Computron computed a means of artificially triggering their timer, forcing Abominus to splinter. After that, Computron gave the Terrorcons a 4.1% chance of defeating him in battle, and he was certainly being generous with his estimations. Cutthroat and the others turned tail and fled in fear of Cybertron's Mightiest Nerd. Money Is Everything

"What did you do during Galvatron's epic battle against the Autobot army?"
"To be honest, I just kind of stood around."

Acting as a raiding party, Cutthroat and the Terrorcons attacked the laboratory of Gregory Swofford and Mark Morgan, looking for the next heat-resistant metal the scientists had designed. They inevitably were opposed by their opposite number, the Technobots, but showed some remarkable sense and ignored the urge to battle the Autobots to the death. Instead, they just stole the metal and fled. Galvatron's house-training must have paid off. The Return of Optimus Prime, Part 1

In 2011, Cutthroat and the Terrorcons journeyed to Cybertron over the long-abandoned Decepticon space bridge. They were part of the first wave of Galvatron's siege, hoping to gain control of Vector Sigma. Cutthroat's team combined into Abominus to battle Superion. Four Warriors Come out of the Sky Later on, Abominus teamed up with his fellow combiners to wage war on their Autobot counterparts. Their victory seemed assured until the Battleship Maximus swooped in and scattered the Decepticon combiners. They barely survived the encounter. The Mystery of Planet Master On Earth, Cutthroat and the Terrorcons intervened on Hot Rod's search for the Matrix of Leadership. Chromedome and the Autobot Headmasters kept the Terrorcons busy so that Hot Rod could complete his mission. Even after the Terrorcons formed Abominus, the Headmasters stood against them, and the arrival of Computron swung the odds firmly on the Autobots' side. Abominus was last seen with his head buried in the sand, being kicked in the side by Computron. Birth of the Fantastic Double Prime

When Galvatron launched a metal-warping meteorite at the Autobots on Athenia, he brought along Cutthroat and the Terrorcons to occupy the Autobot forces. Linking up as Abominus, they once again battled Computron and the Headmasters. Approach of the Demon Meteorite

"Hey Galvatron, I'm your number one fan!"
"Have we met before?"

Scorponok devised a scheme to harvest plasma energy from the planet Mars by setting off a series of explosives that would utterly destroy the planet, releasing its stored energies. Cutthroat and the Terrorcons were responsible for planting the bombs. Hun-Gurrr was spotted by Daniel Witwicky, Wheelie, and Shouki of the Trainbots, but the other Terrorcons managed to take them hostage. Explosion on Mars!! Maximus Is in Danger Cutthroat and the Terrorcons managed to get two of the three sites set before being set upon by Raiden and the Headmasters. By forming Abominus, Cutthroat's team held their own until Scorponok arrived with his mighty Transtector, MegaZarak. The giant scorpion occupied the Autobots long enough for the Terrorcons to finish their work, and Mars was consumed by the resultant atomic inferno. Explosion on Mars!! MegaZarak Appears

Soon after, Cutthroat and the Terrorcons joined Sixshot the returning Galvatron on an energy raid. They sought to prevent the Autobots from re-energizing the distant world of Sandra, and steal the energy for themselves. Cutthroat's team formed Abominus for yet another in a series of battles against Computron. SOS from Planet Sandra

"Why did they have to put him next to me?!"

After an extended mission in space, Cutthroat returned with Galvatron and the other Decepticons, setting up shop on Earth under Sixshot's command. He joined an enormous offensive against the Autobots' facility in Miami, drawing out the troops from Autobot City so that Sixshot could kill Ultra Magnus. Body-slamming Computron as Abominus was just icing on the cake. Ultra Magnus Dies!! The warfare on Earth continued, as Cutthroat and the Terrorcons assembled as Abominus in part of a five-fold simultaneous strike on Autobot interests engineered by Sixshot. The Emperor of Destruction Vanishes on an Iceberg As Scorponok assumed control of the Decepticons again, Cutthroat was seen at a rally being held in his honor on Chaar. Cutthroat and the Terrorcons later joined a Decepticon strike on the Kamchatka Peninsula, seeking to gain control of the Pacific Ring of Fire. I Risk My Life for Earth

Losing an arm didn't slow down Apeface any. Wuss.

Cutthroat and the Terrorcons served Scorponok on Cybertron, and journeyed to Nebulos under his command to conquer the populace and destroy their old foes, Fortress Maximus and his crew. The Terrorcons made a rather poor showing of themselves, however. First, they were driven off by Computron and a pair of Headmasters, despite being backed up by the Horrorcons. Love and Steel! Later, they were the first to feel the enhanced firepower of the Autobot Targetmasters. Cutthroat did all right for himself in that second battle, though, outflying Blurr's hyper-speed trigger finger. The Autobots wound up realizing during the fight that they were only bringing ruin to the nearby agricultural facilities, and fled from the Decepticons. Brothers in Armor!!

Scorponok's Decepticons eventually met with those under Ratbat's command on Earth. Both groups were manipulated into coming to blows by Starscream, the conflict coming to a head with an all-out Decepticon Civil War erupting between the two groups. During the skirmish, Cutthroat became yet another victim of Buzzsaw's rampage of carnage, getting his arm torn off by the latter. Cold War! Cutthroat was sent out to fetch the rest of the Terrorcons during the chaos, though on the return trip the group decided to terrorize some humans for fun. Though Hun-Gurrr was soon along to bring them back to the extraction site, their efforts wound up being in vain, as a team of Autobots attacked, destroying the product of their hard labor. The Terrorcons convinced their leader Soundwave to follow the Autobots back in time after discovering their enemies had fled to 1989 following their assault. Along with Rodimus Prime and his crew, Cutthroat's group wound up caught in the Time Wars, joining forces with Rodimus and the modern Transformers under the command of Fortress Maximus and Scorponok against the power of Galvatron. Early in the war, Megatron's position as Decepticon leader was usurped by Scorponok, who had him exiled to Junkion. Cutthroat and the other Terrorcons were deployed to Mumu-Obscura, but were taken prisoner by the Reapers to lure Sixshot to the planet. The Reapers offered membership to their little club so long as Sixshot destroyed the Terrorcons. When they thought Sixshot was seriously considering the offer, Cuttthroat and Hun-Gurrr tried to persuade Sixshot that the Decepticon war machine didn't need the Reapers, as he already had a group of misfit friends in the Terrorcons. After Sixshot declined the invitation, the Reapers allowed the Decepticons to leave in peace. Spotlight: Sixshot

Cutthroat is a bloodthirsty monster whose joy in violence stands out even among the Terrorcons.

Not content with simply defeating his enemies, Cutthroat must obliterate them, rending his foes from circuit to gyro in a frenzy of hatred and spite. Sausage inna bun? Once tasted, never forgotten.
 • Cutthroat (Terrorcon, 1987)
 • Hasbro ID number: TR3
 • Takara ID number: D-82
 • Accessories: double-barreled magnetizer
Released in the fourth year of Hasbro's US The Transformers toyline (third year in Europe and in Takara's Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers line), Terrorcon Cutthroat transforms into a hawk monster thing. Or maybe Rodan. His wings, legs and neck are articulated, so one can put him in a flying pose. His double-barreled magnetizer forms the beast-mode tail by flipping the barrel-part out on a hinge, extending its length.
He can also form the leg or arm of any "Scramble City"-style combiner, though he is nominally Abominus's right leg (see Notes). He is not particularly aesthetically pleasing as an arm, as his wings project straight out to his sides (aka Abominus's front and back) in that configuration. He can also attach to Metroplex's robot mode.
There is a later-run variant of Cutthroat, released in 1988, which not only lacks a rubsign, but has been retooled to fill in the indent on his robot hipplate where the rubsign would have gone.
There is also a packaging variant for all four small Terrorcons, which included a random bonus Decepticon "Decoy" mini-figurine.

 • Abominus (Gift set, 1987)
 • Takara ID number: D-84
 • Accessories: double-barreled magnetizer
Cutthroat was also available in a gift set with the rest of the Terrorcons. All of the Terrorcons are identical to their individual releases, although it is unknown if the versions without the rubsign indents were released in this format. (It's not terribly likely though.)

Prime

[edit]
Hot sausages, two for a dollar, made of genuine pig, why not buy one for the lady?
 • Windrazor (Cyberverse Legion Class, 2013)
 • Series / Number: 3 / 008
 • Accessories: "Tornado Bow"
Prime: Cyberverse Windrazor was repurposed as Generation 1 Cutthroat in IDW's Windblade series.
Part of the third wave of Prime: Beast Hunters Series 3 Cyberverse Legion Class toys, Windrazor transforms into a bird-like dragon creature, and comes with a "Tornado Bow". He can hold the weapon via the latter's three 3mm posts, and he and the weapon feature numerous 3mm mounting points.
Though not called out in the instructions, Windrazor combines with Cyberverse Twinstrike, Hun-Gurrr, Predacon Rippersnapper, and Blight to form Abominus, with Windrazor forming the right arm.
This toy was redecoed into Prime Divebomb, Go! Barara, and 2014 Transformers Strafe. His bow accessory was also used, in varying colors, by Bumblebee, Airachnid, and Predacon Rippersnapper.

Power of the Primes

[edit]
Certainly your actual pig products. Genuine pig.
Unused alt head
 • Terrorcon Cutthroat (Deluxe Class, 2018)
Released in the third (and incredibly Terrorcon-heavy) wave of Power of the Primes Deluxes, "Terrorcon Cutthroat" is a heavy retooling of Dinobot Swoop, transforming from robot into a hawk-like creature based on his original toy. Like all other Power of the Primes Deluxe Class figures, he comes with Prime Armor with a place for a Prime Master (and by extension, a Titan Master, Enigma of Combination, or Matrix core) that can transform into a hand for a combiner. He also comes with a piece that can fill the gap in the Prime Armor or be held as a gun.
Cutthroat can also transform into a limb for any Combiner Wars-style Voyager Class figures from the (or onto one of Legends Godbomber's legs), although he was meant to combine with Hun-Gurrr to form Abominus.
Cutthroat's beast-mode head, lower jaw, and head crest are kept on by very tiny, shallow pins and thus care should be taken when handling them as they are prone to popping out with very little provocation. Additionally, much like Swoop, his robot mode hips aren't locked while he's in his leg mode, unlike most Combiner Wars compatible limbs, making that mode slightly less stable.
While stock renders, stock photos, and the final toy depict him with Cutthroat's head, painted samples displayed at NYCC 2017 feature a head based on that of Wildfly/Yokuryu, appearing to be an unused alternate head.
Cutthroat's ball joints and the mushroom peg in his waist are larger than Swoop's, meaning that limb-swapping options are limited.
The original figure was redecoed into Generations Selects Red Swoop, and further retooled into Selects Kraken and Terrormander.

 • Release date: April 17, 2021
 • TakaraTomy ID number: TT-GS12
 • Hasbro ID number: TT-GS05
 • Accessories: blaster
Initially developed by TakaraTomy, Generations Selects Cutthroat is a more cartoon-accurate redeco of his Power of the Primes release. He features a more saturated color palette than his previous toy, as well as changing a single Decepticon sigil on his beast mode's nose to two insignias on either sides of his chest. His most significant deco differences are having the purple crest sticking out of his beast mode's head redecoed in yellow, gold paint instead of silver for his robot mode's face, and purple talons instead of silver. Other minor deco differences include silver paint removed from his robot legs and the sides of his chest, and green paint added to his robot arms.
He was only available in a massive box set of Terrorcons, along with Blot, Hun-Gurrr, Rippersnapper, and Sinnertwin. This set was a TakaraTomy Mall exclusive in Japan, with a small-ish number imported and made for sale through Hasbro Pulse; originally slated for release on March 27, Abominus's release was pushed back to April 17.

Notes

[edit]
 • Cutthroat had the working name of Slish-Slash.
 • Cutthroat's nominal limb placement as the right leg of Abominus is frequently switched around with Sinnertwin as the left leg, due to the package art showing the latter configuration. The original cartoon popularized this different placement, while the mobile game Transformers: Earth Wars depicts the original configuration from the toy instructions. Unusually, Transformers: More than Meets the Eye #7 depicts Cutthroat as Abominus' right arm instead.
 • By the early 2010s, Hasbro lost the trademark "Cutthroat" (or perhaps were more conservative with gore-themed toy names), resulting in Cutthroat's Transformers: Prime namesake having to be called "Windrazor". Later in the decade, Hasbro got the trademark back, but now as "Terrorcon Cutthroat" for stronger protection.
 • While Cutthroat appeared redesigned based on Prime Windrazor in IDW's Windblade vol. 1, he did not appear as such alongside his also-redesigned teammates in the Transformers Legends mobile game event "Unleash the Beasts".
