The Optimus are a faction of good guys—just how "good" they are depends on the universe they appear in and who's in charge.
Fiction

[edit]The Optimus was a triumvirate of elite Cyberdroids who ruled the planet Rebirth until the 21st century. Apex, Hi-Q, and Diac couldn't be further from their namesake if they tried—they were thoroughly corrupt and prone to cracking down on any kind of dissent, no matter how peaceful. When a group of rebels aiming to topple the oligarchy arose, the Optimus branded their rivals the "Malignus" and forcefully drove them underground.
