:This set was a center of confusion for many fans, as it showed up in Target stores without a prior announcement from Hasbro. While this is not uncommon for Cyberverse exclusives, all toys in the set are labeled as Decepticons. Oddly accurate to the show, the packaging shows the larger Repugnus in robot mode compared to the smaller Pesticons in beast mode, similar to how the Monsterbots were presented in the cartoon.

*Repugnus's design is heavily inspired by his Generation 1 counterpart's special edition Titans Return toy. His beast mode, however, draws more inspiration from the Titan Master accessory vehicle included with the regular Titans Return toy.
*Rather than being based on his contemporary Generations toys—as is typical of most non-Evergreen character brought over to Cyberverse—Repugnus' design seems to have used the original G1 toy for reference, carrying over key details like the angled yellow panels from his beast mode (which are seen here in his robot mode), his jetpack, and the circular details on his beast-mode ankles.

The name or term "Repugnus" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Repugnus (disambiguation).
Repugnus is a Monsterbot from the Cyberverse continuity family.
Let's crawl to the ugly bug ball.

Repugnus and his tribe of Monsterbots dwell deep beneath Cybertron's surface, prehistoric creatures who inhabit an untamed, primordial land filled with savage, Monsterbot-eating Cybertronian wildlife. Like many Monsterbots, Repugnus takes a primitive stance on modern social niceties—for instance, he sees nothing wrong with eating other mechs to slake his own thirst for energon—but the little guy does have a good spark deep down, and will gladly share what little he has with outsiders who win his favor.

Deprived of energon after the near-destruction of Cybertron and the draining of its natural resources, Repugnus and his tribe were trapped in their simple beast modes for many years, eking out a hardscrabble existence in their dying world. Repugnus and his tribe captured Bumblebee as he journeyed towards the Well of the Allspark, Battle For Cybertron III intending to feast on the Autobot. Before the Monsterbots could start eating, Cheetor caught up with them and told them of their mission, using the Allspark to sate their hunger and win over their friendship. In gratitude, Repugnus led the duo to the Well's backdoor. Once Cybertron was restored, Repugnus rejoiced at the planet's revival. Battle For Cybertron IV

Unfortunately, a snobbish Monsterbot named Affluous took the chance to have Teknicus build a device segregating those loyal to him, whom he dubbed the "Energon Masters", and those he deemed unworthy, Repugnus among them. Banished to the wilds beyond the Monsterbot city, Repugnus and his tribe had to survive on scraps, lest they die of starvation or get captured for trespassing. When fleeing a group of Injectors, Repugnus was saved by Grimlock. In gratitude, Repugnus offered his new friend some energon and told him of the Monsterbots' societal divide. Morally outraged by what he heard, Grimlock led the Monsterbots to the city to overthrow the Energon Masters. When they reached the city, Repugnus' hunger won over and he led his brethren to an energon pool, leaving the Autobots to destroy Teknicus's tower and restore equality among the Monsterbots, Repugnus transforming back to robot mode. Journey To The Valley Of Repugnus

When the Autobots needed a place to plan against Tarn and his Decepticon supersoldiers, they hid in the Valley of Repugnus. Repugnus himself met the Dinobots on the way to the rendezvous, and led them to Hot Rod and the others. During the battle against Tarn’s forces, Repugnus and another Monsterbot came to Bumblebee’s rescue, draining the Energon of a supersoldier attacking him. Following Soundwave’s sacrifice, Repugnus stood with the Autobots and Decepticons as the smoke cleared. The Perfect Decepticon
