- Deluge is an Autobot Aquaspeeder from the Generation 1 continuity family.
Sure, you've just punched a hole in the enemy's front line and troops are pouring in. But what's to keep the enemy from flanking you and shooting you in the back? Deluge, that's what. He's here to make sure every last bit of Decepticon resistance has been thoroughly stamped down, leaving no nasty surprises for the bots on the front line. Sure, it's an ugly job, sloshing through the most hellish of bombed-out battlefields to take on Decepticon stragglers who are likely desperate enough to try a suicide run to take out any Autobot they can find, but Deluge is in it to win it, no matter the odds.
He probably gets very confused when other Autobots call him "Drench".

- Deluge transforms into a Mazda 787B Le Mans-style race car. As an Aquaspeeder, he has a double-barreled water-cannon that uses a plastic bellows to store water, which is usable in both vehicle and robot modes. His hood/chest changes from dark green to a milky-white with temperature changes, but faster in cold or warm water.
- Deluge was only available in various European markets during the two-year "transitional" period marking the changeover from the original toyline to Generation 2; in the original line's final year (1993), the toys were given redesigned Autobot and Decepticon symbols, but it wasn't until 1994 that "Generation 2" appeared on the packaging.
- This mold was redecoed to make the US Color Changer Drench. It was also used as the basis for the non-toy Shattered Glass Drench.

Notes
[edit]- Deluge gets the front-and-center spot on the 1993 cardback mural, facing off against Hydradread. This seems a pretty random choice, as he's actually got the lowest Rank among the Aquaspeeders... as does Hydradread among the Stormtroopers, for that matter.
- For some reason, Deluge's bio is very similar to that of fellow color-changing Autobot, Gobots.
