Archadis is a Predacon from the Beast Era of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Heh. Oh, so you're so very precious, sweeties. But now it's time to die.

Not humble in any sense of the word, Archadis (アルカディス Arukadisu) is an adept marksman hailed by Magmatron to push back against the Maximals' endeavors. He tends to make a whole big deal of himself through thinly veiled arrogance— but somewhat rightfully so due to his fighting prowess. Believing so much in his air of superiority, this conniver is not above the thought of insulting and sabotaging Magmatron's men for his own gains.

All this of course leads to Maximal and Predacon alike hating how much Archadis preens the reputation preceding him and the way he puffs out his downy chest, and by far, he draws the most criticism from the ever-loyal Guiledart. As one might imagine, there are few who wouldn't like to wring his immaculate, perfectly groomed neck, but Archadis is more than just talk. Beneath his stylish plumage rests a wealth of deadly projectile attacks which keep the unworthy rabble at a safe distance. However, if a foe is skilled enough to evade his bombardments, Archadis is more likely to flee than risk getting so much as one feather ruffled.

Archadis posed as an events coordinator in order to trick Sharp Edge into competing in a martial arts tournament and challenge Big Convoy on the planet Aquarius. When Big Convoy didn't show up, Archadis tricked the Maximals into showing up at the fighting ring at the bottom of the acid ocean, making them think they'd be competing in the tournament for the Angolmois Capsule they need to keep the crew together under Big Convoy. Instead, Archadis took the Maximals hostage. When Big Convoy showed up, Sharp Edge attacked, but the Maximals managed to catch his tail long enough for Big Convoy to convince Sharp Edge he was being used. Sharp Edge then used his ultimate attack on Archadis. Personal Combat in the Deep Sea!!

Beast Wars Diorama Story

At some point, Archadis was transported back in time to the planet Energoa, during the original Beast Wars between the Maximals and the Predacons. Archadis Chapter Also brought to Energoa was Colada, who Archadis personally fought in a large Maximal-Predacon battle. Colada Chapter The battle was joined by several Autobots and Decepticons from another universe. Archadis was a Predacon hitman hired by Magmatron to kill the Maximals scaling the highest peak on Greengard for an Angolmois Capsule. True to form, Archadis was a snob, marveling at how wonderful it was to fly, an ability that the Maximals lacked. With his ability of flight, Archadis possessed the advantage in battle; the Maximals were stuck in the middle of their climb and didn't use their weapons out of fear of avalanches. After pummeling the other Maximals, Archadis deduced that, as Stampy was the one holding the rope that the other Maximals were attached to, all he would have to do was attack the helpless bunny. Using his "Ryūsei Kochō Ken" (龍星古鳥剣, "Dino Star Ancient Bird Sword"), Archadis prepared to kill the Maximal... after delivering some very creepy entendres about it "hurting a little at first" (no, really). However, Stampy, inspired by his memories of his mother, was able to jump onto and off the moon and somersault into Archadis, sending him blasting off and leaving his mask behind. Beast Wars: Uprising

Archadis was a member of the Resistance during the Grand Uprising. When Magmatron and the crew of the Dinosaur returned to Cybertron and signed up to the Resistance, Lio Convoy welcomed their aid. However, he assigned Archadis as second-in-command of the unit (as well as Sling) to maintain some influence over their activities. Magmatron and Archadis were given a mission to extract or kill the traitor Snapper from a Builder convoy. During the fighting, however, one of Magmatron's men named Rampage formed an alliance with various parties as the Ex-Bots, and needed the Chief's help to deal with an imminent alien threat to Cybertron. Archadis's haughty manner did little to sway the Dinosaur's crew, and they aided Rampage. When the fighting was over, the Ex-Bots remained together in Proximax to defend the civilians from collateral damage during the Grand Uprising. Archadis refused to abandon the Resistance, and so he and Sling returned to Lio Convoy. Cultural Appropriation

Archadis was one of Onyx Prime's Maximals. When this bestial horde invaded Cybertron, he was one of the many warriors who wound up battling Arcee. Endless Forever

Part of the third wave of Beast Wars Neo products in Takara's Beast Wars toyline, Archadis is a Deluxe-sized figure that transforms into an organic Archaeopteryx. In beast mode, his wings extend via spring-loaded triggers to drop his "Wing Bombs"; doing this also reveals his two flip-out, non-firing "Wing Gundreads".

In robot mode, his right forearm hosts his non-firing "Founder Shot" blaster, with a geared "quick-draw" action activated by rotating his attached tail-kibble. His Founder Shot blaster can also be removed from the mechanism if one wants him without a weapon, as his gun-holding hand doesn't actually hold the gun and there's nowhere else to store it (its removability is likely there to prevent breakage). Archadis's Predacon spark crystal is located on his robot mode chest, and can only be seen when unfolding the beast mode wing.

This mold was also used to make Beast Machines Airraptor.

Archadis was also available in the "Favorites Showdown" (本命の対決 Honmei no Taiketsu) vs-pack with the Maximal Mach Kick, also released in the third wave of Neo toys. Both toys are identical to their individual releases.

Sonokong also released this vs-pack in Korean Beast-War Neo markets. The Sonokong Archadis is identical to the Takara releases, other than the packaging and Tech Spec cards.

Beast Wars Telemocha Series

Released in the first wave of Takara's Beast Wars Telemocha Series, Archadis is an extensive redeco of the above Deluxe-sized figure in a more muted color scheme (gasp!) to better blend the figure with the other toys in the line, which got paint jobs hewing very closely to the Mainframe models of the CGI show's cast.

It comes with a DVD featuring the Japanese dub of the Beast Wars episode "Dark Voyage"... an episode (and show) that the character was never featured in.

This toy mistakenly uses a Dinobot spark crystal (as his redeco Airraptor had) instead of a Predacon one like his original toy.

Wouldn't be the first time Takara made a bird male.

• Archadis is one of three Beast Wars Neo toys whose designs were determined via a contest held by Japanese Television Magazine. The winning designs were revealed in the April 1999 issue. The other winning designs became Mach Kick and Bazooka. The original design that became Archadis was female. This was referenced in an entry of the Facebook edition of Ask Vector Prime which described a trans male Archadis.
• Archadis's colour scheme is based on a then highly prolific piece of palaeoart by Zdenek Burian in the book Prehistoric Animals.
