After breaking onto the scene with his self-published webcomic Space Mullet, Johnson gained wider notoriety with his 2017 series Extremity, which also marked the beginning of his collaboration with frequent colorist Mike Spicer and Skybound Entertainment, both of whom he would continue working with for his subsequent series Murder Falcon and the Eisner Award-winning Do A Powerbomb.
