The association of the Starriors characters with it is likely a reference to Starriors being a spinoff of Zoids in toy terms, though the two Tomy lines are unconnected in story or setting. - Transformers: Legacy toyline staff Ben MacCrae and Mark Maher lampshaded the heavy Zoids influence that went into the beast mode of Legacy: United Thundertron by offering that the pirate had crash-landed on the Zoid homeworld of Planet Zi and scanned one of the franchise's trademark ligers.[1]
