In a planet torn by civil war, Autobots Hot Shot and Red Alert are deep within Decepticon territory, being pummeled by Spider Tanks and Dropships! They were sent there by Optimus Prime to uncover an ancient relic that would tell them where to find the long-lost race of Mini-Cons who vanished over a million years ago.

It tells him the history of the Mini-Cons' plight and their escape... and most importantly, it could give him clues as to its destination!  But suddenly, it erupts in light, and a strange portal opens amidst the battlefield.  Megatron calls his Decepticons to follow him into the portal, where the Mini-Cons obviously await.  Optimus Prime, Hot Shot, and Red Alert are not far behind.
