Top row, L to R : Stonecruncher, Excavator, Grit
Bottom row, L to R : Sledge, Hammer, Knockout
The Micromaster Combiner Constructor Squad is a rare example of a group of Decepticons more enamored with creation than destruction. That doesn't mean they don't enjoy watching a beautiful structure being demolished; they just want even more to replace it with a terrifying edifice. Every Decepticon victory is an excuse to erect a monument at headquarters. Their enthusiasm to build can even transcend allegiance, if the bid is high enough. They're unbeatable as a team (under the command of Hammer), but, as individuals, their ambitions to out-design one another can get the best of them.[1]
The Constructor Squad consists of:
- Stonecruncher and Excavator the crane-truck
- Grit and Knockout the backhoe truck
- Sledge and Hammer the dump truck

[edit]- Constructor Squad (Micromaster Combiner Squad, 1990)
- Released in the seventh and final year of the original The Transformers toyline in the US (sixth and not-final in European markets), the Constructor Squad was sold as a carded pack of three pairs of Micromasters: Stonecruncher and Excavator, Grit and Knockout, and Sledge and Hammer.
- Each member forms half of a construction-themed vehicle, though they are all compatible with any other Micromaster Combiner or Combiner Transport, enabling you for form all sorts of weird new vehicles.
- Members from this team were used — without alteration — to make the Japanese Autobot Crane Cannon W Team and the Dump Shovel W Team. They were also redecoed to make the pilots for the various Combiner Transports — Gusher & Pipeline, Retro & Surge, and Cement-Head & Terror-Tread.
Notes
[edit]- The Constructor Squad are one of two Micromaster teams to be redecoed in their entirety within the U.S. Generation 1 toyline, the other being the Air Strike Patrol.
Foreign names
[edit]- Italian: Squadra Demolitori ("Demolition Team")
