The name or term "Red Alert" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Red Alert (disambiguation).
Red Alert is an Autobot from the Animated continuity family.
Hello, nurse!

Some wish Red Alert's bedside manner were as delicate as her surgical abilities. However, the enviable level of her skill more than compensates for her gruff demeanor. After losing her left arm to a Decepticon boobytrap, she's replaced it with a Transfer Interlink apparatus that can scan patients and emit various hard-light surgical tools.

Though she started out at the top of the class of Protihex Medical Mechanical, these days she serves as a field medic under Rodimus Prime's command. Sounds exciting, but this just means she spends most of her time patching up her teammate Hot Shot.[1]

Good news! It's a suppository.

During the Great War, Red Alert developed a cure for Gold Plastic Syndrome. It's something she's rather famous for. The AllSpark Almanac II

Millions of years later, long after the war had ended, Red Alert helped create the data merge that infused Decepticon flight technology into the rehabilitated bodies of Jetstorm and Jetfire. First (and Second) in Flight

Later, she was seen alongside her fellow Autobots Ironhide, Brawn, Hot Shot, and Rodimus Prime near a Space Bridge node fighting Decepticons. Her services were called into action when Hot Shot was hit by Strika—his leg was badly damaged and she told him it would have to be amputated, despite his protests. Her bedside manner didn't help when she told Hot Shot that a new one would be delivered by the Cybertron Service in six to eight solar cycles. Before the leg could be amputated, she was captured, swallowed, coated in explosive goo, and spat back out by Spittor. Hurled at Brawn and Ironhide, the resulting blast took all three out of commission. TransWarped

Shellformer!
  • Red Alert was originally intended to be part of the core cast in the early development of Animated, continuing the thematic lineup from the Unicron Trilogy. For reasons unknown, her character was later changed to be male. For reasons known, what with that whole giant live-action movie thing having an Autobot medic named Ratchet, Animated Red Alert was replaced with Ratchet in the end.[2] Female Red Alert's final design was based in part on a preliminary design by Eric Canete from that phase of development, as was the choice of her gender.[3] Amazing coincidence, Ratchet himself was originally intended to be female for the Marvel Comic series.[4]
  • As detailed in the Transformers Animated Pitch Document, Red Alert would have had Medusa-like "Wire/cable" hair underneath her helmet, that could grab objects and repair other transformers.
  • Red Alert's finalized body is an homage to the Unicron Trilogy Red Alert's Armada form, notably exhibited with the left arm tool. In turn, Animated Red Alert's body served as the template for the character Flashpoint.
  • Red Alert has developed a cure for Gold Plastic Syndrome,[5] an infamous toy degeneration "disease".
