| This article is about the evil Autobot Elite Guard leader. For his heroic counterpart, see Thunder Clash. For a list of other meanings, see Thunderclash (disambiguation). |
- Thunderclash is an evil Autobot from the Shattered Glass continuity family.

Field Marshal Thunderclash, affectionately nicknamed "The Big Guy" by his troops, is a seasoned veteran with thousands of successful military campaigns under his belt. He is the powerful leader of the Cybertron Elite Guard, after he made a "command decision" to remove its previous leader, Hyperdrive. Seeing the growing madness of Optimus Prime, he thinks he may well have to eliminate another Autobot leader. In the aftermath of the Wreckers being eliminated, his unit has risen to prominence in the ongoing conflict. While generally well-liked within the Imperium, and even respected by his enemies, he has a tendency to lose his temper when it comes to underperforming troops. In alternate mode, he can reach speeds over Mach 1.
He's reached a mutual understanding with the diseased mech Nightbeat and the Secret Police, and they have devised a way to combine to form the super-warrior Nightclash.[1]

Its paint colors were chosen to complement the previous year's custom-class "Shattered Glass" Nightbeat. Like Nightbeat, the toy features a unique insignia.
- Thunderclash transforms into a rocket-powered Cybertronian long-nose truck cab. He can also form the top or bottom half of a larger robot mode, compatible with any Energon Combat- or Mega-class Autobot combiner robot mold. He features a spring-loaded rocket thruster/missile launcher, plus a spark crystal that can be used as a mounting point for an energon chip.
- This mold was also used to make Energon Checkpoint.
