Megatron demands for Prime's surrender, but the Autobot leader refuses, believing that whatever the energy is, it belongs to the people of Earth. Grimlock, meanwhile, blasts Scrapper in the back, and throws the Constructicon into Soundwave.

While Prime fights Megatron, Grimlock fights the Constructicons, Jetfire dogfights Starscream, and Hot Rod and Mirage corner Soundwave, Soundwave reports via Ravage's intel that Landquake has betrayed them. Though the Decepticons try to leave the battle to chase after the mysterious power source underground, the Autobots impede their movement.

Below, Cliffjumper and Landquake discover a pool of liquified energon.  Skyfall is more concerned with the wall carvings depicting a robot that matches the design he saw on his dimension's Cybertron. As the battle above roars nearer, Breakaway asks calmly that they retreat further. Though Cliffjumper worries that this is all a Decepticon trick, he decides to follow Skyfall, Landquake, and Breakaway further into the cave.

Meanwhile, more fighting happens above.
Below ground, Landquake warns that if the fight enters the chamber, liquefied energon will go off, and thinks to himself of the opportunity to secure his position with the Decepticons if he were to hand this to Megatron. Cliffjumper wants to go out and join the battle, while Skyfall triggers the wall to open, showing a mural of a combiner-type Transformer. Cliffjumper is prepared to leave the three others to their fate, but a voice from "the Caretaker" welcomes the four, telling them that Primus needs them. Cliffjumper is momentarily disarmed by the mention of his god, while Breakaway urges them to folllow him. Landquake feels an odd gravity to the situation, and urges a reluctant Skyfall to follow, feeling that there will be answers here. The Caretaker assures Skyfall the energon will be safe, but Cliffjumper, snapped out of it, refuses to let Skyfall go, feeling it is a trap. An incredulous Skyfall  points out the sacred feeling of the chamber, and a reluctant Cliffjumper decides to follow him, though not before he sets something up...

Synopsis

[edit]

As Optimus Prime and Megatron engage each other in combat, their troops continue their battle around them. Jetfire dogfights with Starscream, while Soundwave takes cover from Rodimus and Mirage's fire. Megatron demands for Prime's surrender, but the Autobot leader refuses, believing that whatever the energy is, it belongs to the people of Earth. Soundwave receives a message from Ravage, his scout having located the power source, and discovered that Landquake has betrayed them. Megatron orders his Decepticons to follow Soundwave, while the uncombined Constructicons are attempting to escape from Grimlock's grasp. Megatron, too, tries to shake Prime off, but the Autobot leader tackles him, and the two fall down the large hole in the ground. Grimlock, meanwhile, blasts Scrapper in the back, and throws the Constructicon into Soundwave.

Above ground, Rodimus and Mirage are pinned, while Prime and Megatron continue their fight in the hole, Prime refusing to back down. Grimlock is held down by the remaining Constructicons, while Rodimus is damaged by the fire of Soundwave and the rest of the Decepticons. Prime is knocked down my Megatron, and as the leader orders Starscream and Ramjet to go down below. Preparing to blast Prime, Megatron tells him he will enjoy this.
