Slipstream is a Decepticon from the Aligned continuity family.
Sorry, Blackarachnia, but you've just lost Default Evil Girl status.

Slipstream is a female Decepticon who fought on Cybertron during the early days of the Autobot/Decepticon war. She is a Seeker who specializes in sarcasm and stinging insults hidden behind a thin veneer of humor. Starscream finds her relatively unreadable.

Definitely not cheating.

Slipstream arrived in the multiversal hub known as Axiom Nexus under unknown circumstances, her universal stream of origin a mystery to even the Transcendent Technomorphs. Regardless, something about her caused all those she met to sense something undefinably different about her. Slipstream does not appear in the War for Cybertron storyline campaign. However, completing the Decepticon campaign will allow the player to use Slipstream in Escalation mode, and her chassis, labeled 'Stalker', for customizing an online multiplayer Decepticon Scientist character. Her abilities in Escalation are Cloak and Shockwave.

Timelines

[edit]
  • Slipstream (Deluxe Class, 2013)
  • FSS1 number: 2
  • Accessories: 2 missile pods
The second toy sent out in the first year of the Transformers Collectors' Club's "Transformers Figure Subscription Service", Slipstream is a new-head retooling of Prime: First Edition Starscream, transforming into a jet resembling a General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon. She comes with two "Alternating Gyro-Power Nullifier" missile pod accessories that can either attach onto tabs on the underside of her wings, or onto the rear wings on her arms in robot mode. Additionally, she has a 5mm peg hole that goes through each arm, which become the sides of her jet mode tail. This allows accessories with the same size peg to be used in either mode.
Her instructions give her robot mode the slightly-hunched posture of Starscream, but there is an "official" mis-transformation. Fun Pub's images of Slipstream show that her back should be kept straight, with her forearms left unextended (which gives her some funky elbow articulation) and, for a little extra difference, her knee-spikes left folded against her shins.
This mold was differently retooled to make Prime Skywarp and Thundercracker.

Notes

[edit]
  • Slipstream's AGP (Alternating Gyro-Power) Nullifier weapons are a very clunky nod to the 1988 Nullifier G.I. Joe figure, who drove the AGP (Anti-Gravity Pod).
  • Her toy's bio is fairly careful to not explicitly label her as Prime Slipstream, but does make thinly-veiled meta-references to her being out of place thanks to the Aligned continuity being... "separate" from the rest of the Transformers multiverse. This was later explained as a result of the Uniend Cluster being previously separate from the rest of the multiverse until the Dark Spark opened it up to the rest of the multiverse.
  • Slipstream's jet model, along with Starscream's, is reused in Fall of Cybertron as various generic Seekers, easily identifiable during the attack on the Autobot transport.
