Major Joseph Bergstrum is an officer in the United States military. He is in command of NATO's peacekeeping operation in the Socialist Democratic Federated Republic of Carbombya, which includes Captain Simmons, Sergeant Hacklin, and Private DeMarco.
Fiction

[edit]After presenting video evidence of Carbombian Protection League members possessing hi-tech Transformer weapons to a group of NATO representatives, Bergstrum introduced Agent Sato, who was passing on information that the weapons had been sold to the terrorist group by Swindle, and a further trade was going down in a couple of days. Bergstrum took Sato to Carbombya with him to join Captain Simmons's team. There, they briefed Simmons and Hacklin on the sting operation, and Bergstrum was surprised to find that Sato hadn't told him that Fakkadi himself would be there.
Once all was ready, Bergstrum waited for the arms trade to go down, before ordering the troops in. Bergstrum himself captured Fakkadi in an arm lock, pistol-whipping the ex-dictator when he protested. Though the operation went completely to plan, Bergstrum was disappointed to discover that the jeep they'd destroyed was not, in fact, Swindle, and the trailer full of arms instead contained Pez dispensers. Two for the Price of One
