Synopsis
[edit]Emerging through the portal opened by Alpha Quintesson's Initiator, the armies of a parallel-universe Quintessa raze Cybertron as the Autobots and Decepticons on the surface struggle to fight back. Seeking advice, the Omnicons investigate the Hub, the planetary intelligence of Cybertron, and discover a message from Over-Run, uploaded moments before Starscream ended his life. Over-Run informs the Omnicons that they are the missing link in the next stage of the evolutionary chain of Cybertron, the next form of life Transformers must take if they are to survive. But that is the future: right now, their mission is to access the Energon core of Cybertron and channel its power into the planet's entire population, giving them the energy to fight off the Quintesson invaders. No unique Cybertron comic was published to follow up this story; "Balancing Act", by Fun Publications included a reference to Over-Run's death at the hands of Starscream, but was otherwise consistently presented as being set in the continuity of the Cybertron cartoon. As is very easy to do in these situations, we blame the Unicron Singularity.

[edit]- Furman's summary makes a reference to Prime and Jetfire combining, presumably the reason Jetfire was selected to aid Prime in his battle on Unicron. Evidently, Furman was thinking about Prime and Jetfire combining as per their Armada bodies; while there was an Optimus figure capable of Powerlinxing with other bots, it was far less notable than the Prime Force Optimus usually merged with.
